WILLIAMS BOOKKEEPING & TAX SVC

Mr. Williams, our tax preparer for the last few years,  passed away back in December.  A couple of months later we received a phone call from a Jason Williams who told us he was Mr. Williams' son and would be taking over the business and was hoping we would continue to be a customer.  In April we asked Jason to file our extension for 2010 and in July called him and told him we had our receipts for our farm and our W2s from our employers ready to bring to him to prepare our tax return. He met me at his father's former office which is a small portable building. Jason's appearance as well as the office was totally unprofessional.  This man unlocked the door and stepped in ahead of me. To my horror he was attired in shorts that were hanging off of his rear exposing several inches of butt crack. He had on a tank top and flip flops and was heavily tattooed.  The desk had a clear drink bottle on it which appeared to have an ongoing history of snuff spit in it.  His unprofessional looks only pales to his unprofessional conduct and lack of ethics.  Long story short he did not have the tax prepared on the date agreed to. He ignored phone calls from me for a few days.  My husband finally reached him on the phone and he said he would "try" to have our taxes ready by the upcoming Saturday." My husband told him we would be "expecting" a call from him on Saturday.  We did not hear from him.  My husband called him and he said he had finished them and could meet us at the office.  He charged us $225 which was more than his dad ever did and then after receiving our check PULLED OUT AN ENVELOPE FOR US TO MAIL TO THE IRS.  We told him "no,no...we wish for you to file electronically as your dad and other tax preparers do."  That is when he told us that he had been recently notified that he would have to get a new EFIN.  Then he got very attitudinal. He made a comment to the effect that we had waited this long to file so he did not see the big deal.  He became beligerent before we left.  He said, "you WILL come back to me next year!  You know why? You know why? I will tell you whey because nobody else does these for as reasonable a price as I do."  He was poking out his chest and acting agressive.  Needless to say we will not be using him in the future.  I doubt he will even be in business anyway. The IRS and IG of the Treasury Dept frown on people using the EFIN of a deceased person.  Apparently when he said he was going to take over his father's business he meant that he was going take over his father's business and toss out the professionalism, manners, and ethics.  By the way, he charged us for the form to file electronically even though he did not. He also charged us for the form that explains why the preparer did not file electronically. He checked reason:other and put Preparer is applying for new EFIN.  His dad our former tax preparer was a nice man and had a good reputation. His son is shameful.
