Mowing is rushed and sloppy. Crew has very little regard for ornamental plants. When we first became customers they outright killed a Boston Ivy plant I'd just gotten to grow on the house. The response was that I should buy little flags and put them on/around anything I didn't want mowed.  We were never reimbursed for the plant, nor offered a replacement.
This crew is VERY consistent in knocking off the sprinkler head closest to the front door and then randomly kicking it under one of the bushes. A++!
Never sure what part of the day they were going to show up (and sometimes not even which day, in spite of being on a schedule) sometimes causing us to make a run to let the dog in from the backyard.  One morning we were unable to leave for work because they'd pulled up across the bottom of the driveway for the mowing session.  If there are any items left in the backyard (usually something the dog may have drug out) they were very careful to either mow over the top of said item or pick the item up up, mow the grass, then meticulously place the trash/detritus back where they found it.  Magic!
C'mon, if you're going to bother picking up the piece of chewed water hose, at least toss is on the porch or in a pile?  I'd have happily paid a premium for just this little bit of effort, quite honestly.
You have to manually email them and request a change to the monthly mow schedule in winter, otherwise they'll just keep coming out every other week and happily billing you to buzz the top off your non-growing grass. 
As half-a$$ed as the lawn crew tended to be, the lawn treatment guys on the other hand are above reproach.  At first I didn't think it was worth the money for apparently ineffective lawn treatments but in comparing our yard to the ones of our neighbors I can definitely see the difference over time.

They do what you ask and they do it for a reasonable price.

Basic lawn service of mow and trim was generally good.  Workers were polite and good at their job.  Where they fail is when there is an issue or you need communication with the management or owner.  Extra jobs outside of mowing often were performed poorly due to lack of direction / management and when there is a problem (and if I was able to get in contact with Tom or whatever his name is) I would get a defensive reaction / tone from them.  Lastly they will continue to mow in the winter at the same weekly schedule even if the grass isn't growing until you call them and cancel or tell them to stop.  They receive communication through voice mail / answering machine but rarely return calls.  My experience with Tom's Lawn has left me feeling like they really don't care about their customers.   Used them for years and have never spoken to the owner except when I had a major problem and after that I was done.

I've had them for years. It is $35 to cut and trim. They have a lot of extras stuck on. They like to add on, like they add on a premium for the gas fee. The last time it was $10 and they charge it every time they come. The premium varies depending on the price of gas. The work they do is excellent. I have asked them to trim the shrubs on the foundation and it got get pretty expensive. To trim one little tree was $85 so I'll never get them again for that. It didn't take that much time to do the job. I've used them for some many years so I don't know what others are charging. They do both residential and commercial. They killed some grass in the beginning because they cut it too close. They are pretty responsive. They answer all the messages twice a week. They come pretty much the same time every week.

I have been a Tom's customer for several years. The price is comparable to other lawn care services that provided estimates although Tom's does charge extra to mow the lower portion of my back yard on a monthly basis; however I am not displeased with the extra cost. I have found that Tom's does a good job in mowing my lawn, as well as edging, and will work with me when I need a schedule change. I know Tom's also offers other lawn services (i.e. flower bed planting, weed prevention, etc) although I have not used them for anything other than mowing and trimming hedges.I would recommend them.

I have a corner lot and a decent sized yard so I didn't figure it'd come cheap, but it was an acceptable price.
My lawnmower had broken and I'd been busy so weeds were everywhere. Even though I'd hired them just for lawn care, they also hacked away at the weeks in our flower bed and other places. Really appreciate the job they did.
Also they were able to finally edge our lawn which is awesome. We'd tried to edge it a couple times and actually tore up the tools we were using to edge, but they were able to get the job done. Excited to get the lawn back in shape.

Tom's has been moving my 1/4-acre lot for 3 seasons now. The crew is highly organized, fast and efficient. Any problems and Tom himself follows up. My lawn looks really good after they do their job.They do add a fuel surcharge of 1-2 dollars, depending on gas prices so not too cheap overall.They will do weekly or bi-weekly, but I personally like every 10 days which they don't offer.Highly recommend.

Initially I had a good experience. The person that gave the bid was professional and knew what needed to be done. They worked quickly and did a very professional job. I was pleased with their work at that time. However, this summer we had construction work on the exterior of our home and asked Tom's to skip mowing for 2 weeks while the materials and equipment were laying in the yard. When I got the bill for that month I suprised to be charged $20 for the two weeks when they did nothing. I called and spoke to the owner who said that was a "standard fee" because skipping a week meant the grass was overgrown and harder to mow. That was absolutely not the case because the grass died under the lumber and materials. The owner was not willing to negotiate so I discontinued the service. I would not recommend this company be used for regular lawn care.

No problems at all, hardly know they're here and they're gone and the yard looks great. Billing is convenient, great service.

Company might have come out on days listed on bill if grass grows faster than 2 inches per day; otherwise I was horrified when I went back to the property clean the interior. Grass had completely overtaken a flower bed, there was no edging except for street-side and I have doubts they came as often as they stated. For $40 per mowing visit I was expecting better service than the local 10 year old off for the summer.
