Subs were used for different parts of the job. Mr. Veit did not follow instructions with regard to the insulation I told him to use. I specifically asked for radiant barrier paint on the underside of the roof deck prior to installing the ceiling. The sub used insulated foam board instead. When the drywall ceiling was textured, the sub made no attempt to protect the walls and windows from over spray and did not clean it up afterward. Veit's subcontractor who "leveled" the floor did so using only a 2x4 leaving large ridges and gouges in the wet concrete. The only way now to put tile on the floor is to grind the severely uneven patch. I asked Veit to install an underground drain pipe to carry excess water from the back of the house around to the front. I had several discussions with him telling him I wanted a drain box at the low point in the back yard and I wanted the PVC drain pipe installed around the house to end with pop-up drain installed flush with the ground near the front of the house. I even told him where to get the parts. Instead, he installed a french drain with a 2-foot wide trench filled with gravel all the way around the house. I asked Veit to come back and correct problems. He agreed but has never done so. I will continue to call him but the important point for me is that I should not have to beg him to come back to correct shoddy work. It shows, in my opinion, that he has little interest in satisfying the customer.

I hired Trade Masters Remodeling to update a small bathroom. Everything started out well. Mr. Veit did the demo himself. Then he had the tile guy quit and had to hire another who could not lay tile in a diagonal pattern. The grout lines were uneven and the tiles were not flush. The tile guy did not use spacers so the tiles were sliding together. I saw the tile before it was grouted and told them to repair it. The next day they tried but the tile had already set. They then grouted it with out letting us see it first. They also used a grout that I did not provide when the one that I did was on the job site as specified. Mr. Veit said that he would fix it but that he would have to charge me more for the labor and I would have to buy all new tiles. I told him that I would hire someone else and asked him to gather his supplies and leave. He became very upset and belligerent. I had to threaten to call the police to get him to leave. I ended up hiring another company to complete the job. When I did they found that he did not seal the shower pan or use the correct drywall. I had to buy all new tiles and pay a second company to complete the job. I went way over budget and what was a two week job turned into a six week job
