It went great. I have used David since 2013 when I remodeled my home. He has built multiple bookcases for me for my living room and kitchen. He also built custom cabinets in the kitchen and a large Island for the kitchen. All of those things were done by David and painted by David. He is precise, dedicated, honest, trustworthy and kind. He wants to do a good job and it shows. His prices are very competitive.
On my latest project, the housing for the TV, I had a vague idea in my mind of what I wanted. David brought over the materials I had requested. When he showed me what I asked for, I changed my mind. David was not upset, but very patient and helped me establish the concept in my mind of what I thought would best work for the TV. He did a great job and I HIGHLY recommend him to anyone wanting good workmanship.

We were very happy with the work done by Father and Sons. They are professional and we trusted them. Although they were slow to submit bid, once we were on their schedule, they were on time and followed through with everything they promised. We think their pricing is very fair. We definitely will be using them again for any remodeling.

When we initially met with David and knew that Father and Sons was the company for us. David had excellent vision for what we wanted to do with the kitchen and his quote was better than most if not all competitors. David quoted a total time for the kitchen demo and remodel of 6-8 weeks for the remodel and began by demoing the kitchen over a weekend to get the work started.
Over the next several weeks David and his crew removed a curtain wall between the living room and the kitchen, reinforced the surrounding beamwork, and began to layout the new kitchen cabinetry. David built all of the cabinetry on-site and even corrected several measurements that our designer calculated incorrectly. David did an exceptional job of laying out the kitchen while taking care to account for the natural imperfections in our 1920's bungalow. After completing the cabinetry David and his crew did an excellent job of installing the tile floor and backsplash while working with his subcontractor to install our granite countertops. Upon
completing the tile work David and his crew finished installing the cabinetry, painting, and installing appliances.
Overall the process went extremely smoothly. David, his crew, and his subcontractors were extremely professional and very accommodating. The work they did was excellent and the final product is a kitchen that every visitor to the house compliments. The only issue we dealt with is that the job slipped to about 3 months in length but that is partially our own fault as we took our sweet time selecting tile and the tile was then backordered. Additionally, David can be a bit difficult to get in touch with from time to time but I believe that is partially the result of being a small business owner with multiple jobs going on throughout Houston.
Our experience with Father and Son's remodeling was so favorable that we have contracted Father and Sons to renovate our master bathroom.

I found Father and Son's Remodeling on Angie's List last December for a client of mine. I designed and over-saw a build-out of an attic in a home in Houston. My client hired Father and Son's Remodeling to construct a very complicated and precise job for cabinets and doors. Because it was an attic, the finished framing dimensions were not exact. The floors were not perfectly level, the axis lines were not exact, and in many areas, the sloping ceilings presented height issues. Spaces were often awkward and tight, yet, we were counting on and expected a symmetrical and precise finished result.
Guess what? That's exactly what we got.
David Garza - owner of Father and Son's, and Goyo Torres (his assistant) were SPECTACULAR !!
They not only built every cabinet as precisely as we designed, but they mastered every difficult obstacle with their own patient precision and quality and offered many great ideas and solutions to problems we encountered.
Speaking of quality, their's is as good as WE HAVE EVER SEEN AND BETTER THAN HOPED FOR. The detail of construction was superb, and best of all, everything was level, even though the floors often were not.Father and Son's executed everything we asked for and more.
They were talented and generous, often doing extra things without charging, even though we insisted on extra payment. They kept their word and never presented a single problem. The $11,000 spent was truly well-spent for the seeming $20,000 result we got. They even returned several times to fix anything that might have arisen subsequent to their completion...often without charge and always promptly.
Again, their pricing was beyond fair. In fact, we had to insist on a bonus at the end because their work was so good and so prompt. These guys work hard...and quickly.
An additional bonus was that they were an absolute pleasure to work with. Each guy always had a great attitude, a smile and a happy demeanor. When something new would arise, a problem uncovered, or a change was necessary - their response was always - and quot;No Problemand quot;. I have been on a lot of job sites - but none with men who were so easy to work with. In fact, I oftened heard them whistling and singing as they worked.
Father and Son's did such a fabulous job, that we will not use anyone else in the future. We couldn't have been happier with the results and highly recommend them to anyone looking for any kind of top-notch remodel or new build-out job.

Father's and Son's Remodeling started remodeling my house since last February 2013. David Garza, Owner of Father's and Son's Remodeling and I agreed and signed on work items and cost. He said it took about 8 weeks to finish the job. So we agreed on final cost ($46,200). He asked me to pay $15,000 upfront to start and rest of amount divided by 8 weeks. Since I added some additional works, I gave him more times to finish and paid what he has asked for those additional items. Total amount I paid him was $58,570. I paid him all.
On Wednesday, April 24, 2013 when I came home, he moved his tools and stuffs. I was wondering why. On that day he and I discussed about deadline of this project. We verbally agreed that project be finished by May 11. Then I gave him a letter about project deadline and asked him to sign. He refused. Instead he gave me an invoice about additional items. I said I will pay this additional amount after you finish this job. He said he can't continue to work if I don't pay him now. I said if you don't finish this job, you have to return my money. He said I will bring money tomorrow and never come back.
Main reason I hired him was because he said he only focused on this project and finished first. Then he move on to next one, but that was not true. Since he started this project, he got another jobs in 2 weeks and kept delaying this project.
As of April 29, 2013, he didn't finish the jobs that I paid for and disappeared.
We are living in a very unhealthy condition due to dust and smell. I am pursuing my legal rights to get my money back.

Response from Father And Sons Remodeling
"When I first gave him my price, he told me he was going to give me the work and because of that I was willing to give him a free built in cabinet. Then, he calls me back for additional work and that was an extra cost. He tells me he has a budget, so I offered to deduct work of the proposal to keep it at his budget. The customer wasn’t satisfied with that and he wanted me to do all the work. I agreed, but during the project he kept making adjustments we were doing and he felt that he shouldn’t pay extra for it. He said the adjustments or the extra work he wanted should be on the proposal but it wasn’t because we never talked about it. So when I would ask him to pay for the extra work he will tell me no and kept bringing up Angie’s list. I felt like he was telling me he was going to put a bad comment for my company. I will give him the invoices for the extras but he would print his own invoice with a lower price. It felt like he wasn’t going to give me an option and I would take what he was giving me. There was work we’ve done but he was only paying me enough money to buy the materials but not the labor. For that reason, I had to start another job to make extra money to continue with his house but because he kept making adjustments it wasn’t working out. I told the customer that I didn’t have the money to pay my workers to finish his house and asked him to pay for the additional items. He told me not until the job is done. I informed him I couldn’t continue. I told him in the 7 years of business I haven’t had an issue until I met the customer. I tried to be fair but he wanted quality work for a cheap price."

They did a lot of work for us. We started in the middle of August. They were beyond our expectations. They were excellent. He came and the house was a shambles. He saved the day. He always came on time and is the ultimate professional. There was no job that he could not take care of. He built cabinets, installed an painted them, he renovated the bathroom and installed a lot of knickknacks in the house. We would not use anybody else.

I'm very particular and they did a gorgeous job!!! Very professional! He had full access to our house when we weren't home and we never once worried about anything. They are very trustworthy. I even gave him my credit card to purchase materials with no problems whatsoever! One of the things I liked about working with David is that if you don't like something, he will fix it with no questions asked and with a positive attitude. It took a bit longer to complete the job but the way it's turned out was worth it. I would highly recommend using this company for anything. He and his crew do the job themselves. He stuck to the original quote except for the things we added along the way. His quote included moving the furniture, not like some quotes we got that charge for doing so. He is very nice and knowledgable and I can say we learned a few things from him.

Father and Son's Remodeling was chosen to do my mastershower after having at least 5 different individual companies give me bids. One of the reasons for this was because he did not try to sell me more than I could afford. David Garza and his helper were very sensitive to what I requested, such as start time each morning, quitting time on a couple of occassions. They arrived on time each day, showed me what had been done that day before finishing for the day. Several things took a little longer then planned, but David explained to me in detail what was happening. After the shower valve was installed and the water was turned back on, we had a pipe in the attic burst. David was kind enough to go and get the material needed to fix the pipe that day and I was very appreciate of that. They were very polite, professional and I plan on using them again to do some other things in the near future. I would recommend them to any one who wants a good job done at a decent price. Thank you David!!

It went well! For us this was a huge decision since we only have one bathroom and were terrified of being without. Fand S's were great and left us with a toilet as much as possible. We have been burned on other home improvement jobs so this was a nice experience and we love our bathroom.

General: Came in under estimate since we decided to put second coat of paint on ourselves and to re-paint the cabinets ourselves. We also did some of the demolition (removing mirrors and countertops) as well as disconnecting/connecting lighting and the plumbing to the sinks. Worked with Fand S to describe the changes and they provided itemized estimate. We ordered lighting, plumbing fixtures, sinks, and spa bath. Fand S is happy to do this, but we had very specific ideas in mind on what we wanted. Impressed with work for several reasons: - protected bedroom from dust by covering furniture and floor with plastic - covered bathroom floor tile with paper to protect it - carpentry was solid and well considered - tiling was also well thought out so that it doesn't look chopped up and flows from/to the shower, spa, and window as a single job. - shower pan and shower were well built and water-proofed appropriately to ensure no future water incursion. Throughout the job, Fand S worked with us when they had any areas of concern and to ensure the installation and design was as we expected. Additional comments: We chose the tile before work began and directed Fand S to get tile from the store where we found the tile. Fand S felt the cost was surprisingly high and felt they could find it for much less. They spent a good amount of time to find the same tile at about one third the cost, saving us $3500. The counter top slab (silestone) was just inches short of being a single piece for one of the counters, so Fand S called and asked how we would like to handle (two pieces with center join or join at one of the ends or elsewhere). We asked them to fabricate a shelf at one end (near the sink and against the wall) that was even with the backsplash, to hid the join. The first 'shelf' was not satisfactory, so they rebuilt it without question. Fand S took the old mirror glass to the dump (we had done the demolition). The broken glass was in a plastic tub. They inadvertantly forgot the tub at the dump, but bought a new one for us once they discovered the mistake. We called Fand S back for two minor problems that came up after they completed work and been paid. One was the shower valve didn't work correctly and they found the valve was installed upside down. The other was the grout next to the spa bath began to crack and the replaced with a flexible grout of the same color. Working with Fand S: Fand S apprised us of schedule (time and days) they would be at the house and always showed up or called to reset schedule. At end of day, job site was always clean and organized. Fand S is friendly, easy to work with, and we always get along very well. We have been extremely satisfied with the work they've done for us and have recommended them to friends. Everyone on the jobsite is happy to work with you, but Jesse organizes the jobs and is always available by phone to discuss. If they are uncertain exactly how you want something to look, whether it will work well, or how it should be done, they will ask and make recommendations.

They were professional, clean, competent, timely and skilled. Work performed per budget on time and with minimum of inconvenience. While doing the work, an alarm wire was inadvertently cut and the alarm company had to be called to repair it. Father's and Son's was very apologetic and reimbursed us for the cost of repairing the alarm work, no questions asked.

The Company is run by two brothers and there are a couple of folks that work with them. They have probably done about 7 jobs for me, so I like them a lot. They work with me and their prices are really good. They are very good at what they do and I am very happy with them. I spent about $8,000 on the last job done by them and I think that they are better than fair on price. They are guys I can trust and do good work. They are going to come out here again in a couple of weeks.

We have used them before. They were slow to respond initially but after the initial response they did an excellent job. They consulted with us all along the way and finished on time and on budget.
