My Experience with Robby McKnight Was horrible. I debated taking the time to post a review and ultimately decided to because If it helps someone avoid what I went through it will be worth it, If you don't have the time to read at least scroll through the pictures to get an idea for the quality of work I received from McKnight. I decided to hire Robby for my metal building and concrete pad in 2022 based off his reviews, pictures from his website that represent quite impressive high quality builds, the high quality appearance of his business building he built, and my initial conversation with him that went well, he answered all my questions and promptly sent me a quote. Starting with the Concrete, the footers where dug too shallow and match what was stated on the plans, after pouring the concrete I pointed out that the anchors for attaching the steel structure where not placed and luckily they where placed in while concrete was still workable. the drip edge on the concrete was rough and not level, Robby assured me that it would be trimmed out and I would not see it, however the trim was never installed and the siding sat directly on the concrete. The pad was hardly worked, was not level and was filled with blemishes, a mark where the power towel was turned off and left sitting etc. I measured a ~5/8'' variance with laser. The trim was done sloppy and improper, used no flashing, the siding cuts where crude, and the trim was not angled or bent and folded directing water into the building, It leaked setting me back time/labor and ruining materials, I Inspected multiple metal buildings around town, took pictures and found pictures online to show Robby and he denied that the job his crew did was incorrect, however he did offer to remedy the issue, the fix was to silicone around certain spots but this seemed to make it worse by directing the water to pool and flow inward. I requested the trim be redone correctly but he denied it being done improper in the first place and blamed my lack of overhang for the problem, the next fix offered was a sheet metal overhang for each window that looked horrible and made tremendous noise in the wind, the leaking did stop but only after my own time and money where spent filling the trim above the window with foam strips and massive amounts of silicone. Windows where not joined together properly, Robby's fix once again was to have his crew silicone the area. Both doors would not stay closed, the frame seemed slightly too big and they would not latch, my fix was to stack washers underneath the plate, the door sweeps where not installed along with some of the weather stripping. The Welding was very rough and did not inspire confidence as this was a weld together building, blotchy, burnt, cracked, inconsistent welds throughout, in addition the main vertical beams where cut too short and and a piece was sloppily welded onto the top of each side to bring them back to proper height. Most of the fasteners where over tightened and washers where blown out, a box of sealant strips for the roof that came with the materials where not used. The insulation was installed poorly leaving sections between rolls not insulated and the vapor barrier was not overlapped properly or taped. Fiberglass insulation was left sticking out around the bottom of siding, windows, and doors wicking water into the building and saturating the insulation. These are just some examples of the issues I had with McKnight, the quality you see here is what I received throughout the entire build, Robby denied any fault and did the bare minimum to fix issues and even became angry and frustrated on multiple occasions claiming I was being ridiculous, and he could not be wrong as he has been doing this for ''x'' amount of years etc. This build represents my life savings to build my forever home, its a real bummer this is what McKnight gave me as there is no changing it now. This was a disaster and I only wish I could have seen a review like this when doing my research, I hope this helps someone in the future, Thank you.
