VENT TECH LLC

I'm an architect w/ over 3,000 completed projects throughout the US and having moved to Fairview/TX last year, had found that most local residential contractors had been spoiled by quick-n-dirty/just-for-looks Developers. Vent Tech/Plano's quality & thoroughness of their work, however, is amongst the best & the most honest professionals I've ever retained. I was too busy w/ the move and, our previous/unscrupulous GC installed badly undersized & even sub-code vent ducts for the installation of a 48"/1,000cfm hood, just taped together. Vent Tech's Field Rep came, assessed the situation, Robert/Owner followed up w/ a very reasonable/fair quote and was able to send people almost immediately, as we've been w/o a Kitchen Hood for over a month. I was prepared for a super messy job, having to tear up the pantry wall behind & its ceiling, after which to hire a drywall/painter/etc. When Jose P & Enrique came, however, Jose, immediately suggested a different, less messy approach (w/o demolition of walls/clg), simply replacing an existing undersized rectangular duct w/ a custom/larger rectangular duct & pipes/connectors w/ 1 less 90degrees bend. Every duct connection was carefully fitted, bolted, duct taped carefully and, then, in places where needed, brushed over thoroughly w/ fiber-reinforced duct sealant Mastic (for added leak prevention). Then, they completely cleaned up after themselves. These are steps expected in commercial projects & from quality/professional contractors, but many residential subs won't take (especially around here), either under price pressure &/or greed. Cheap, most often, is just that,....CHEAP. When you want professional/quality & dependable work for reasonable/fair price, call Vent Tech.

We are remodeling our kitchen and needed a new range hood vent installed. It had to run an 8” exhaust through the ceiling and the roof of our house. Got an estimate and decided to use Vent Tech. They came out today and the installer looked at the early quote and said they had made a mistake and it was going to be less than the original estimate. WHAT AN HONEST COMPANY! The installers were very professional and did a great job. Robert Cates at Vent Tech and all the employees should be commended.

The two company representatives, Marc and Hector, told me exactly what was needed. Based on their advice, I had the vent cover on the roof replaced by a roofing company. Marc and Hector came back and replaced the Duct work, transitioning from the existing rectangular duct in the wall, to a circular duct that attached to the roof vent cover. They were extremely cordial, very professional, and did an excellent job. I would not hesitate to call this company again for any ductwork needs in my home.

I couldn't have been more pleased! Gonzalo called to let me know they were on their way to my house. He and Luis arrived promptly and ready to start the job. I explained what I needed, and Gonzalo said they would take care of it. After checking the vent, it was determined that the vent needed to be replaced. The new vent was installed, the duct was connected and the "mess" (their word) was cleaned up. I was impressed with their pleasant demeanor, professionalism, expediency and work as a team. It was very easy to work with VentTech. They contacted me the same day to set up an appointment and they showed up on time the day of the appointment. They were very professional and straight forward about what needed to be done and they gave me a fair, honest estimate for the work. I was very pleased with the experience and the work done.

It went great! Robert called me immediately first thing Monday (803) after I had sent a request for quote. They came out within 4 days (delayed due to my schedule) to see if they could do this work and to provide an estimate accordingly. These guys did not give me the "sunny day scenario" alone when providing me an estimate, but all the potential issues that could happen once we opened our ceiling up. They spent a good 1.5 hours making sure they had all the details on what would be a part of the potential job. When they came back to do the work, it turned out to be part worst case as in Gonzo had to cut threw a few cross beams (non structural, non-load bearing) to get to the outside wall and also opened our ceiling in 3 places ( 1.5 square or less per hole) and two cuts to the interior walls to install the right angle ducting. They installed rigid ducting for the run across the ceiling, an exterior vent cover with flap, and new flexible ducting from the dryer to the wall. I almost wish I had more ducting problems so I could hire them again :)

These guys were great.  Jose and "Gonzo" were prompt, efficient and tidy.  They made great efforts to make sure the work areas remained clean and when they left, they swept up the areas and even buffed out the vent hood itself.  I would absolutely recommend Vent Tech for anyone (and have given their card to my next door neighbors for a new hood installation.  A+!!

Very professional, the staff were very knowledgeable about their craft. It was a 3 step process. First they removed the existing wall mount range hood that had been sunk into the ceiling. The duct work was repostioned so the new flue would be properly centered once the dry wall was completed. When they came back to install the range hood, the back splash had an area that needed to be cut to fit an existing electrical socket, they recommend a good sheet metal shop. Once that was done they came back and installed the back splash.  returned phone calls right away and were prompt, calling ahead to confirm thier arrival time.

Pancho and Aron did a great job. They arrived on time assessed the work to be done and provided a quote which I thought was very reasonable. The vent pipe previously installed was a flexible pipe and was broken in the attic. All the lint from the dryer was blowing into the attic. They replaced it with a solid pipe in addition they put a new vent cap on the roof. Once completed they showed me everything they had done to make sure I was satisfied with the job. Since the temperature was in the 90s it had to be very hot working in the attic doing the installation. I had originally scheduled the appointment for Thursday morning and when no one showed up on time I called Robert. It turns out that one of their trucks was in the shop and they did not get it back in time. Robert apologized and promised to have them out there first thing the next morning. I would definitely use them again.

Vent Tech was great. They were responsive on the phone and where other providers gave a blanket estimate over the phone, Vent Tech sent a crew to assess the job before giving an estimate. They showed up on time to give the estimate and do the job. They were very professional.The were careful not to mark up my walls and put drop cloth down to catch the debris from drilling and cutting etc. The time they estimated to do the job was accurate. I would hire them again.

They arrived on time and performed the work. They had to go up in the attic to re-route the duct line. The builder installed the duct such that it was blocked and the fan did not move any air.

They were recommended by a competitor who did not have the knowledge to do the work that needed to be done. They have the technology that is needed to do some difficult vent cleaning work. They are very good and they are the only people that we would trust. They are expensive but they work every bit of it. This is the only company that we will use in the future.

Very nice guys to deal with. Much better prices than other quotes. They came did their job and everything works fine. Very satisfied. It was tough to find roofers who would bother with me because they were so "busy". So Vent Tech is a pleasant alternative if you need any kind on venting.

These guys were terrific. ALWAYS on time for appointments. From the initial estimate, all the subsequent panic phone calls (mine - this is an older house full of surprises), and their installation crew who had to come several times because of how the project was going (which involved multi-contractors not-so-carefully choreographed), they were always courteous, solution-oriented, and supportive.

When my electrician discovered extensive termite damage in the floor joists that would impact where the duct-work was going to have to run for the external blower, these folks dropped EVERYTHING and came running to assess and plot solution.

All in all, I think they had to come at least two times more than they had estimated, but that did not change their price. The extra visits were completely because of curveballs we discovered as the plumber and the electrician had questions.
