Horrific! The fence looks worse than before he did anything. Matt Blunt told me the stain should last 3-5 years. It lasted less than a week. He also caused over $1500 in damages to my property (stain on tiles in pool, stain in filter of pool, stain on driveway, stain on vinyl siding, corrosion of metal poles on fence due to his "special cleaner". Matt was over two weeks late performing the work. Once he started, he called and said HE decided to use a special cleaner and it was working really well but that it was expensive. He wanted to know if I wanted him to keep using the "special" cleaner. He said the price would go up $600. I was not happy AT ALL and he knew it. He said he had already done 1/2 of the fence and thought he should finish with the cleaner and we would work out "something". That didn't happen, he said I owed him $1800 now, original quote was $1200. I should have argued but the fence looked fine when he finished. Problem started within a week. I contacted Matt as the fence was bleaching out, streaking and the stain was wearing off. The fence has a VERY uneven worn, blotchy, streaked appearance. It looks worse than fences you see where people try to do it themselves. The fence was also growing the black mildew again. He said "I guess I should have rinsed off the bleach solution and that he thought it just needed more coats of stain". It has been 8 weeks now and I cannot get him to fix this nor return my money. His excuses for not returning have been my workers are quitting due to the heat, Gilbert (his worker) is in the hospital with kidney failure, his grandmother died, his equipment is broke, just to name a few. Due to the time that has passed, it is very apparent he is not going to fix any of the damages he has caused nor does it appear he is going to do the work he was paid to do. He has been back to look at the fence twice since 5/18/09 and acknowledged it is not acceptable. I have contacted him over 27 times since 5/18/09 (I have a log of the conversations, messages left etc) and I am convinced he will not fix this situation. To say I was ripped off is an understatement and the fact that he will not honor his warranty or set a date and actually show up is unacceptable and I can only hope people use Angie's list and BEWARE. It is going to cost me double what I paid him to get the work done that I originally hired him for and to fix all the damages he caused to my property. It was hard to only pick 4 pictures to attach.
