Sarah has a great eye for color and design. She is also very nice and professional. I am pleased to highly recommend her.
Description of Work: Sarah helped us with decisions about our paint colors for walls, ceiling, and trim for our entire downstairs, as well as tile colors for the kitchen backsplash, at the request of her colleague (our kitchen designer). I believe they help each other's clients out with their strongest skills and so there was no charge from Sarah to us for the consultation. Our kitchen designer has a high regard for Sarah's sense of color, and now we do too. Generally, I've been "afraid" to use color on walls and all my life would just choose an off-white. The color I gravitated toward but didn't think would actually work with the floors, cabinets, and granite counter, turned out to be doable - I was afraid it would clash, but she helped us see that if we used just the right undertones of the color, it would complement the other room features. She brought a "deck" of paint chips - each card had the range of a particular color from the most saturated/deepest to the palest, but all on a spectrum of the same color. I wanted the palest version, but on the little paint chips, it was hard to see the difference in the palest colors. But using this deck, we could look at the deepest version and see the difference - that way we got just the right color. As we narrowed down our selections, Sarah gave us samples to lean against our wall and live with for a few days, in all kinds of lighting. The great thing was these samples were pieces of drywall or something like that but lightweight, measuring probably 18" x 24" - so we could REALLY see what they looked like. The colors she didn't already have in that large sample size, she painted and brought over the next day! Also, I had several samples of tiles, including one a company had added in because it was similar to what I had asked for (this particular one must have been new, because it wasn't on their website). Sarah immediately saw the beauty in that particular tile (a terra cotta glazed white, but the glaze is semi-transparent, so the terra cotta color bleeds through in a beautiful finish). In my completed renovation, people have commented both on the paint color scheme and on the tile in the kitchen - many many compliments. I would have used Sarah for our window treatments, but we wanted only blinds, so she referred us to a particular blinds company which did a wonderful job.
