Overall, Jim Ryan from Re/Max-Ryan Real Estate Group dropped the ball and let us down. First e-mail was professional, prompt and very promising. After that, the communication at his end went dead. Considering we spend over $700 to fly to Texas for a few days to make a possible move there, I would think a realtor would be more accommodating, especially since this is their business and how they make their living! We even told him we didn't want to take up a lot of his time, so it wasn't like we wanted him to take an entire day to show us all of Dallas. We just wanted a few hours of his time to maybe see a few homes and or neighborhoods and just talk to us about his personal input of Texas and the Dallas area. If you already live in Dallas or in Texas, then maybe you will be fine, but if you live in another state. . .go with someone else.
Description of Work: My husband and I were planning to move to Texas from another state. I stumbled onto Jim Ryan's website by searching for relocation realtors in the Dallas area. His website seemed to be what we were looking for and the type of agent that would meet our needs. I sent an e-mail to Jim explaining our situation and got an immediate response which I was completely thrilled about. I provided him details on the type of house we were looking for and things that were important to us. He proceeded to input the data into a MLS listing which sent automatic e-mails to us any time a house fitting our criteria came on the market as well as any changes to those listings. We received these auto e-mails once a day. In my e-mail to Jim, I stated we were planning a visit to the northern Dallas area and also gave him the dates we would be there. This e-mail was sent to him a little over a month before our visit. A week or so after my initial e-mail, I sent an e-mail asking him if he looked at the property listing I had searched on my own and if he had any thoughts on them. I did not get a response. Three days before arriving in Dallas, I sent him another e-mail asking some specific questions, and to make arrangements when and where to meet upon our arrival as he said he would love to meet with us in his first e-mail. NEVER got a response. Needless to say, we went to Texas to drive around neighborhoods and look at houses I had researched on our own. If you are looking to relocate to Texas-Collin County/North Dallas area, I would not recommend Jim Ryan with Re/Max. Very disappointed.
