It turned out beautifully. Alan and I met before the wood was even delivered to scope the job and timing. Alan’s knowledge was invaluable in figuring how to do the treads because the stair nose molding from the manufacturer was not a close match, so my plan of using the acacia wouldn’t work. Alan suggested that I let him buy the tread nose in oak and suggested using oak for both pieces of tread and acacia for the risers and landings. I didn’t even bid the job out this time because we were so pleased with their work last time. My faith was justified not just by the results, but Alan even worked with me to keep the price down. The crew was the same as last time which is comforting as you don’t feel someone is being trained on your job. I understand that refinishing makes up most of their work and they appear to be well-respected there, too. Regardless of which is your need, these are the people you want working if you want good, honest, experienced flooring specialists.

Restoration Flooring did an excellent job in repairing the damaged floor area and matching the repaired area to the rest of the wood flooring so that the repaired area looked the same as the undamaged floors.

Alan and his team did an excellent job! Our floors really needed to be refinished due to wear and tear over the years. Our floors now look like brand new! We called to get a quote and Alan was able to come to our house to look at our floors and provide a quote that very same day and start the job the following week. Alan Rollins and his Restoration Flooring team specialize in restoration of hardwood floors. They are true craftsmen and produce great results. Alan took the time to explain the process, and kept us informed with timely status reports. Project was completed on-time, and the things that needed added attention were tended to promptly. Price was a good value and we considered it a bargain given the quality of the work.

Alan and his team did a terrific job, I love my floors. It was a major renovation that took many days. But the work was done to perfection. As the project progressed, Alan was able to accommodate some minor changes I wanted without a schedule slip. They put plastic over cupboards and shelves and cleaned up work area before leaving for the day.

Excellent! We are very pleased with Alan and his team at Restoration Flooring. It became quickly apparent that they take great pride in their work.. Everyone was very professional and a pleasure to work with. Another company recommended by an interior designer originally installed, stained and sealed our hardwood floors earlier this year.. They did a TERRIBLE job! They stained the floors with the wrong color, then tried to blame the wall color reflection as the reason it appeared to look incorrect.. Plus, there was a half-inch gap at the stone fireplace allowing you to see the exposed concrete slab. Knee pad marks, blotching and swipe marks in the stain color were very obvious,.as if it was applied by an amateur.. So I found Restoration Flooring among others on Angie's List . After meeting Alan with Restoration plus three others, it was obvious that Alan knew best what he was doing. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM. His crew leader, Larry, created a color-stain recipe that matched our request, and they added grout in a matching color to fill the gaps created by the first flooring vendor. The sealing is even, and the results look great! BTW, we decided to go with dustless sanding to avoid the dust and a water-based sealer to avoid the bad odor. It is an added expense, but glad we did. Restoration will be installing/staining hardwood floors in an adjoining room soon, and I am sure we will be equally pleased with their work. P.S. Restoration Flooring is a smaller, family-owned business. Alan takes all the calls, schedules appointments and oversees all the work of his crew. This keeps him busy, so it may be a day before he returns your calls. Good luck with your floors!

Alan and crew did a great job. In fact he was able to get the floor done the very next day ( before the arrival of the painter) and was also kind enough to come back and do the top coat again to fit our schedule. I don't know what we would have done without Alan's flexibility to our timetable. He was always prompt in replying to texts. The floors look beautiful. We would highly recommend Restoration Flooring.

Finished in only 2 of 3 days Alan allowed for. We took competing bids and Alan wasn't the lowest, but the others wee companies that primarily sell flooring. My wife met with Alan and was impressed by his ate ion to detail. When the transitions wouldn't work, Alan over night crafted the ones pictured that are perfect mini-ramps that look like they came from the same manufacturer and present no stumble hazards; in fact look much better than those sold by the manufacturer and we love their wood. Alan, however, is a craftsman and made a better looking product to fit our needs. His crew were experienced and thorough, friendly, neat, and respectful of our furniture. Alan's price included moving all of our furniture out and back in (I disassembled and moved my stereo equipment out of prudence) and installation of felt under furniture to protect the wood. The wood we had purchased was great; had almost no waste. One of Alan's crew was thoughtful enough though to point out three pieces he thought too light to blend well. The crew was comprised of three, two of whom had over 10 years experience, the last over 3 years. Professional job from start to finish.

It was just awful. I like emailed him and called him and he never would respond to me. I initiated to speak with him probably in March. He never called me back with a quote and I tried reaching out to him and that's how I ended up finding these other people that I really liked. He was nice and on time. It was weird I just never heard from him again. I actually went back and looked at the reviews and a couple of other people said that about him, that he disappeared. He should follow through with bids and answer emails and phone calls.

Alan was great!  When we had our hardwood floors hand scraped and stained several years ago a small area did not get done (there was a heavy gun safe sitting on it).  We were moving and noticed this a few days before closing, so we needed to get the repairs done quickly.  Alan was able to work us into his schedule and have it done within the week.  The area that his team repaired matches the original work exactly. 

I just bought a home with original hardwood flooring that is in really good shape. They were stained a color I really didn't like by the previous owner. I called Restoration Flooring to come give me an estimate on sanding them down and restaining them a darker color. Alan came out I showed him a sample of the color I wanted and because he had a little bit of time he gave me an verbal estimate right there as well as gave me the price on a couple of upgrades such as the dustless sanding and the water based finish. if I chose to do them. Over all the price was reasonable with upgrades and all.
We had settled on starting on a Thursday, It was going to take 3 days in all. He ended up contacting me and asking if they would be able to start on Wednesday which worked for me so I thought. On the day they were coming I had to go to work in the earlier morning and planned to return to the house in time to meet them there, pay Alan the first half of the payment and make sure all was good to go. Unexpectally my car overheated in Irving on the way from work in Coppel to meet them at my house in Richardson. Alan was very understanding. I mean how often do you hear vendors saying "oh I'm not worried about the payment right now, just make sure you are alright, we can deal with that later" and even offered to come meet me to give me a ride home if I needed. I gave him the code to get into the house through the garage and he and his crew went ahead and got started in the house while I dealt with tow trucks and auto repair shops. I finally made it to the house later that day and his crew with Neri couldn't be nicer. I had to approve the final stain color and they got everything ready and set out a few color on the floor for me to choose from. Neri even gave me a ride back to the auto repair shop that was not to far away.
After all that, the floors turned out great in the end. They look awesome and I am so happy with how they came out. I would use them again if I needed or recommend them to anyone who needed their services.

We went to 3 other competitors for solid and engineered hardwood floor bids.  Each of the 3 were all higher than Allen's bid by a low of $1100 to a high of over $6500.  The highest bid was actually a bid for engineered hardwood that was near $22,000 surprisingly.  During the process all the contractors were nice and answered questions, gave us measurements, and spoke about their product.  One thing Alan did that went the extra mile was he was the only one to actually look at our subfloor, what was underneath the carpet.  Turns out we had what's basically a particle board subfloor.  This stuff is known to absorb water and can lead to warping of hardwood.  A basic internet search will show you that you do not install solid hardwoods over particle board.  When we went back to the other contractors with this information they all told us is would cost thousands more to remove and that we shouldn't worry about.  When we asked Allen about including removal he had already figured it into our bid and like I've noted it was still lower than the others. 

They were on time, friendly, professional, thorough, clean, and detailed.  Once started the process took a little over 2 weeks.  They demoed and installed the hardwoods in about 4-5 days.  The wood acclimated for 7-10 days, then they sanded and stained and that took about 2-3 days.  They installed hardwood to a 2200 sqft home in all rooms, including closets, but not the bathrooms. 

We went with Alan and his crew and I'll never regret it!

Excellent- I used another Angie's list A provider last year and they did a terrible job. I wish I would have gone to Restoration Flooring as I would have been done last year and have had what i wanted. This worked out perfectly. Highly recommend. The installation was completed above our expectations.  The crew was professional and their work was exceptional.  It took about 7 business days to finish the installation.  Allen offered to have his crew come over Easter weekend to finish the job but we declined which meant the install took two days longer.  Our new hardwood floor looks amazing.  Quality install at a reasonable price, on-time installation and pleasant people to work with, what more can you ask for!

This company was 100% professional in every aspect of the job they were hired to do. The owner, Alan Rollins, is extremely knowledgeable and very much a "hands-on" operator. His crew, one of two, were also professionals. You could tell by their communication with Alan and the way they worked that they took great pride in not taking shortcuts and doing things right the first time. My furniture was handled carefully when removed and then later replaced, being hand carried and not dragged, including my studio piano which is, needless to say, very heavy. They cleaned up behind themselves constantly, never leaving trash or debris laying on the floor for an undo length of time. I chose to have dustless sanding added to the project which was a real help once the project was completed. (I had my floors sanded once before by another company who did not offer dustless sanding. There is NO caparison. Dustless is the only way to go.)

The end product, using Restoration Flooring, far exceeds what I expected. If I ever need my floors refinished again, I know who I'll be contacting.

The representative was on time, took measurements, and said he would be in contact with me regarding a quote. The job was fairly simple in the fact it was 1000 sq ft of hardwoods on the 1st floor.  I never heard from the company again.
In turn I moved on to another company that provided a quote by the end of the day and a very fair price.

Called and spoke with Alan on Thursday, 7/2 and was very encouraged because he agreed to go to the home and look at the
damage on Friday, 7/3.  He arrived during the time frame he had committed to and looked at the floor.  After that time, nothing.  No
communication whatsoever.  I followed up with two separate phone calls, one the evening of the 3rd and the other on evening of Sunday, 7/5.  I also followed up via email request through the website on the evening of 7/7 as of today, 7/11, I have not received any communication.  Very unprofessional and inconsiderate.

Our experience with the owner and crew at Restoration Flooring was positive every step along the way and the results were amazing!!  We needed to refinish a 25 year old floor in order to market our house for sale.  If we had known it would turn out so wonderfully, we would have had it done sooner.  We found the guys to be conscientious in every detail from the amount of plastic they used to cover and protect all surrounding surfaces, to the application of stain samples in order to get the color just right.  I wanted a lighter hand scraping with the grain and also the clear coat sheen needed to be " just right".  Not too dull or too shiny.  My husband and I were both extremely pleased. We recommend this company highly to do a great job on any wood flooring project.

Everything I read about Restoration Flooring and Alan on Angie's List was accurate.  Alan and his crew were great! Alan was very responsive and his quote was competitive. Our floors are over 50 years old and needed to be sanded down to smooth it out and remove marks and stains.  It now looks like we have brand new floors.  I am very happy with the result. Everything was fantastic.  Alan was very responsive and came to my house on time.  His quote was very competitive.  He started the job on time despite bad weather. 
The finished product was amazing.   It totally transformed the house.  The 50 year old floors looked brand new.  I put the house on the market a few weeks later and had an offer on the house one day after it was listed.  I think it was the floors that did it.
I would highly recommend Restoration Flooring to anyone.
