First visit was to have my husband's Doc Martin's resoled. He'd done some DIY prior to this and we weren't sure they could be salvaged.  Plano Shoe Repair saved the shoes, completed the work promptly, and charged very reasonable prices...particularly when compared with the places we'd been going to in the malls.  I was so pleased with their work that I took my favorite pair of boots in to be stretched, and had the same experience.  Very helpful - they're on our permanent list now!

They did a good job and their price was great. But it is not as quite good if you go these folks who have machines and it is lot more expensive. What I really like about them the most is that they are very good at what they do unlike the other local repair shoe shops and every time you go in, they want to do something and they are selling me more than what you need. But at Plano Shoe Repair, they don't sell things that I don't need. They are honest and they will not do things that are not necessary. They are really fast too which amazed me.

I stopped by the store on Saturday the eighth to see if they could replace the heels on my Ariat boots. Ariat uses a synthetic heel block so some cobblers won't fix them. I spoke to a younger man and he assured me that they could fix them and if they had to grind off any of the heel block that they would rebuild it with leather to restore the original heel height.
I have orthopedic issues so this is a critical factor for me. I wear two different size boots so repair versus replacement is very important. I have to buy two pair to get one pair I can wear so replacing them is expensive.
I also needed one day service since this is my only pair of boots. He told me to come back early on a weekday and they would do it in one day.
Today I went in at 9am and spoke to an older man. He appeared to be the cobbler. I told him what I needed and that I wanted to make sure the heel height didn't change. He said it wouldn't and he would have them ready by 4pm.
I went by at 4:30 and picked them up. They looked good and well done. Evidently they didn't have the Ariat heel material and they used some generic heel. That was a little disappointing since the Ariat sole and heel are a specific long wearing, acid and oil resistant material. When I got home I measured the heel height and the heels are about 3/8 of an inch lower than original.
I'm giving a B since they didn't keep the heel height the same as original and they didn't tell me they didn't have the original heel material and didn't ask me about other options, like Vibram.
Other than those two issues, the service was great. Quick turn around and polite service.

I took a pair of expensive leather dress shoes (that are my husbands favorites) into the shop to see if they could be repaired.
The cobbler personally came out to look at them and told me that they could be resoled and he would repair a place that had pulled away from the sole. He quoted me a price and told me when the shoes would be ready for pick-up.
I showed up the day before he said they would be ready, and I was able to take them home, as they were finished. I paid exactly what I was quoted, and the receptionist was very nice. We are pleased with the way they look and my husband is very happy to have them back again.

I was particularly pleased that they took the time to discuss pricing options and suggestions. They even recommended a less expensive choice which was much more reasonable on an older purse. They will be my go-to resource for any type of repair like this.

After years of hiking in mountain and tropical climates w/my custom made hiking boots, it was time to get them professionally cleaned and refurbished. So, I took them to Plano Shoe Repair on Sat 12/29. The nice gentleman quoted $30 and 1 week, so I left him the boots and told him to take his time. I picked them up nearly 2 weeks later, and my boots were beautiful! He jokingly said he made me a new pair of boots. He did an excellent job cleaning and conditioning my boots. I'm extremely satisfied with his work and amazed at his reasonable price for doing so. I'll be returning to him for any future shoe repairs and work that I need done.
