which seemed good at that time. He met me at the house at the agreed upon time and said he already inspected the house and everything looked OK. I was a bit surprised that he already looked at the house before I arrived. So I asked him a few questions about the house as I noticed some cracks and doors that couldn't be shut, and he explained everything was normal and fine for an older house. Everything should be good and he promised to give me a report. As promised, the report came in 2 days. I was shocked after seeing the report as it contains no data, just visual inspection. How can an engineer make judgment depending on visual inspection only? So I asked him for the elevation data, and he never got back to me after that. So I contacted and paid another engineer, and the second engineer came by and used his little machine to test after visual inspections and came out with a totally different conclusion that part of the foundation needed repair. I eventually paid a third engineer due to the totally different opinions, and the elevation reading and conclusion from the third engineer agreed with the second engineer. So looks like Ed Watkins's conclusion was incorrect. To me, a foundation evaluation report from an engineer without any data behind seems to be unprofessional. Even from the same visual inspections, the other two engineers noted all the cracks and unfit doors which are too obvious to ignore, and a few other things only professionals will notice,. For the unprofessional report and ignorance of obvious signs, I would rate this engineer and corporation as F.
"This is the first opportunity I have had to review this report. I do not recall anything about the client or the house. However, I do have a 100% satisfaction guarantee about my work. I always supply a complete refund upon the receipt of a second engineering report From a dissatisfied client. Ed Watkins Plano engineering 972-333-7982"
