Merry Maids of North Dallas, TX

I would not recommend them. They just didn't clean. I had them the first half of last year and I could never depend on them. They would say they would be here at 10 o'clock in the morning, and they wouldn't get here until 5 at night. I tried to work with them honesty, but it happened several times. They didn't clean really well. They would leave, and my husband would say they didn't get under the thing that holds the TV and on my couch. We had a party one time and the only thing that didn't pick up from the party which was a little piece of crate paper that was laying in my dining room. If they had done the floors, they would have saw it and swept it up and they couldn't do that. I just got tired of all of it, and I got tired of trying to work with them and I said I'm done. They came every two weeks and did my house cleaning. It was reasonable, it was $149. They had a couple of girls that were very pleasant, but they weren't consistent about the girls that they sent to my home, which didn't make me very comfortable either. You can't build that relationship with anybody. I think they should have come on time. If you make the appointment, you could be on time, not a whole freaking day. Nobody didn't even call. They would show up when me and my husband were eating dinner. I paid them through PayPal, I had a contract with them. They were okay on price, it was competitive. When you're not punctual, that's not very professional.

Over all it went well.  I would have liked it if they had asked me if they wanted my coats hung up…..or what to do with “clutter” instead of stacking it neatly. Their personalities were so pleasant, and they told me just to ask for what I wanted.  I should have spoken up more and I’m sure these 2 very, very nice women would have done what I needed.  I take blame for that.  

They were average although we used them for almost two years.  The cost was $158 or about $40/hr.  One person would take 3-4 hours to clean our house and a team of two would take about 2 hours.  We keep the house pretty clean so its really bathrooms, dusting and floors.  They always did a good job on the bathrooms but the dusting and floors was hit and miss.  They would always fix it if we complained but we had to take the trouble to complain.  It was just extra effort to get them to do what they said they would do.  Sometimes, they would miss a room, the top of a dresser, or sweeping behind a door.  Floors were only damp mopped so we would still end up having to scrub floors every 6 months or so.  
They are supposed to give one room special attention on each visit.  This was to include baseboards, blinds, doors, window sills, etc.  This was also hit and miss.  We still found ourselves having to do blinds, window sills, etc.  
Basically, they were OK but not great.  But considering that we were paying $40/hr, we expected better service.  Add up the bi-weekly service and we paid over $3,700/year.  Why should we ever have to scrub floors or do blinds when we are paying someone that much?  
They were always responsive to complaints, but again, why pay that much and have to do so much follow up?

They didn't do anything what I expected done.  They didn't clean my showers.  They skipped over things.  They didn't speak English and they seemed angry although they had an Englishman with them named Gary.  They didn't vacuum the window sills or clean the windows.  I just wanted a basic cleaning.  They put gum on my driveway and I had to get a spatula to get it up.  I wouldn't never use them, again. 

"Don't do it!" They arrived a bit late and worked quietly. However, their work was sloppy and incomplete, for over $400. They were headed out the door when I asked why they hadn't even entered our office..... They didn't see it on the list? They did vaccum and dust, but that was the easy part. The rest of the job was done poorly. There's no excuse for not fulfilling the agreement. The stove drip pans weren't cleaned, the kitchen floor wasn't clean, lemon oiled the dirt right onto the kitchen cabinets and they didn't clean the window sills or floor boards (didn't even dust them). The woman stood on our tub to wash the mirror in the master bath... I had to call their office to have the work completed and done well. Never hire Marry Maids, Plano, TX!

Horribly disappointing. I decided to try Merry Maids after using independent housekeepers with unsatisfactory results based on Merry Maids excellent reputation. To my horror the experience was indescribable. Their employees damaged my home (scraped walls, damaged chair rails, broke belongings). The last straw was when I came home at 9:30 PM on a Friday evening to find my garage door open, door into the home unlocked and security alarm off. I can only say that that was the only time in my life that I have been afraid to go into my own home for fear that someone was inside waiting to harm me. Needless to say, I searched every room/closet in my home, behind the doors in every room in fear. I would not wish that on anyone. My experience with Merry Maids was over about a 3 month period and after many calls to the manager I canceled my service. It still angers me that a company like Merry Maids can be run this way and I only hope that you consider my experience before using them.
