On the day of surgery, I arrived in the morning, did some paperwork and got ready for surgery. Staff and nurses was very nice and polite. As I was being taken away for surgery, anesthesia kicked in and next thing I remember is waking up when I was told that it was successful (Dr. Eller was the surgeon. He is great too. Put my mind at ease by answering all my questions). They kept me for couple of hours to monitor and then released me.
Overall, it was as good as an experience you can think of when you are undergoing surgery :). No billing issues, no hiccups... nothing.

No communication, doctor unresponsiveness, drug list given does to follow to hospital because different systems. Can not find anyone to talk to unless you live with patient to be there when they decide to show up. Doctors do not call back. Calling doctor after leaving will not call back no plan given on further care. Nurse can not answer questions on discharge and no one call to answer after leaving. Have to use staff doctors locking out others even though they have access.

My experiences with Dr Thakur have all gone well.  She is very relaxed and takes her time.  I trust that she knows what she is doing.
I pay for my treatment out of pocket.  This usually amounts to under $100.
The only complaints I have are with the wait time and one member of staff.  Wait time is often 30 minutes or more; one assistant had a horrible bedside manner.  The other assistants seem fine.
Overall, I would recommend Dr. Thakur.

Her condition (accumulation of fluid in her legs) was addressed and rectified by the next day but the doctors would not release her. She was kept because the doctors wanted to address her acid reflux which was a condition she had lived with for many years without any problem. Over the next three days she was x-rayed and MRIed several times which she found painful because of her arthritis. A tube was placed down her nostril and she was sedated with a medicine which I later was told often acts to agitate the elderly. When she became agitated, she was given a larger dose of the medicine that cause the agitation and her hands were tied to the bed.
After five days in the care of Medical Center of Plano, she was delusional and nothing could be done about the acid reflux, the condition the doctors had been so determined to treat. She spent the next several days with her hands tied. After a week in bed, this 85 year old woman could no longer walk and she was released to a physical therapy rehab facility but she was soon returned to Medical Center of Plano where she died.
I admire all the nurses I met at Medical Center of Plano and the doctors all were very friendly. It never occurred to them that an 85 year old in reasonably good health should not be tied to a hospital bed for the better part of a week.

after checking in which was fast and easy since i was pre registered i went back to radiology for my test. Staff was helpful and more forms to be filled out until i was called back. Test took almost 2 hours and i was sedated slightly since i was claustraphobic of the MRI machine. The staff was very helpful and I got through it with a set of headphones on and i brought a cd of my music which they played so i could relax. I would highly recommend medical center of plano for any tests you need done as the staff is quite good

My son was born there and that's where we typically go if we have an emergency. The people there are nice and things are timely. I don't typically have to wait too long.

We liked the overall customer service. The nursing staff and everyone else were just phenomenal. The patient care was great. We would use the hospital again.

The nurses are very, very good. They come in and explain everything and answer any questions. They put my daughter in intensive care after she had her surgery. 2 people could stay in the room from 8am till 6 pm. They let me feed her ice chips. When I stayed in the waiting room at night, if my daughter asked for me, they let me go in. I was there for back surgery in 2007 and neck surgery in 2010. My doctor gave me a choice to either go to Plano Presbyterian Hospital or Medical Center when I had my neck surgery. I chose Medical Center as I had been there previously with my back surgery. I give them high ratings on everything and would go there again in the future if needed.

They are great and the doctor has a different personality. There is a little wait, as they are very busy. They are very kind and professional. They explain things in detail and the office environment is good. I like their services and will use the same in future.

Outstanding stroke facility. ER availability with stroke doctors and neurologists was outstanding. They were available for us on Memorial Day weekend. They have a separate floor for neurology patients and they offer "food on demand", in which they serve food when the patient wants it, not on a set schedule. They are flexible with menus and will tailor meals when requested.

Check in was seamless and the support staff was relatively friendly. Weeks later, I discovered the billing code was incorrect and I was responsible for the entire cost and fees. Then, the nightmare began. The physician and his billing service corrected the error and re-submitted for payment; the hospital's billing service refused to budge. Even the doctor's billing service (dbs) could not get them to budge. I got involved in numerous back and forth calls, when finally a supervisor for the dbs suggested some options - none of which worked with this hospital billing service (hbs). Months later, my insurance company representative agreed to remain on the line as I explained (again) to another representative from the hbs. They promised to re-submit a corrected bill that day. One month later, I was back on the phone and was told it was too late - and beyond their contractual date for re-submitting a bill. One more call to the insurance company proved this was incorrect, since the re-imbursement amount was in dispute. Another few calls later, the hbs flatly told me they were NOT going to EVER re-submit this bill. It was my responsibility and the insurance representative did not know the 'rules' (according to the hbs). They said my insurance company was really NOT going to re-imburse them and if they re-submitted and it was denied, they (hbs) would be responsible for covering the entire bill. (why???) All the while, I am making my monthly payments. My insurance company finally took the lead and pushed for this bill to be re-evaluated without an action on the part of the hbs. In the end, the facility received payment and I was due a refund - almost a year after the initial contact! Plano Medical Center's facilities may be good but the overall experience was horrible, considering the months spent trying and failing to get their billing service to submit a corrected bill. I know that ultimately the patient is responsible for paying for services, but IF a hospital accepts insurance AND if a hospital contracts to submit a bill for re-imbursement, then I believe the hospital is responsible for ensuring an accurate statement of services is submitted for payment. This facility failed that test through their billing service. I would have given PMC an "F" for overall experience, but I want to judge the overall experience fairly and not the medical staff. Needless to re-state, this facility is one I will avoid in the future.

The staff put me at ease and informed me about what was happening. The cardiologist took over and performed many tests and exams. I was updated with all the information which really made me comfortable.

The after hours clinic had faxed over their diagnosis ahead of me arriving so they were expecting me. I was very quickly triaged and given pain medication so I could be comfortable during the MRI to verify it was appendicitis. After that they very efficiently prepped me for surgery and I was quickly on my way. I spent one night in the hospital. Although I mainly saw the staff for vital sign checks and pain medication (since I'm basically healthy and could get around) they always responded quickly and were very helpful and friendly.

The hospital is absolutely wonderful. My daughter had been admitted 5 times in this hospital. Everyone there is wonderful, from the man who answers the telephone, to the all the personnel's. The facility over there is great. They are professional, responsive, and the quality of care is good. My overall experience with them has been good.
