MARLOW AUTOMOTIVE
About us
Marlow Automotive is a family run business that has been open since October of 2002. We have over sixty-five combined years of automotive diagnosing and repairing experience. There are seven empoloyees working to keep your experience with us positive and with a personal touch. We have the latest factory diagnostic equipment for all domestic and most foreign vehicles. Most issues can be diagnosed for a half hour check out fee and that fee normally applies to the repair if you decide for us to go ahead with it. All of our empoloyees strive to make you feel comfortable with the work being performed on your vehicle. We will explain in detail what needs to be done and are happy to answer all of your questions. We understand that not all maintenance or even repairs can be done all at once. We will give you a list and prioritize your vehicle's needs so that you can do them as you can afford them. We offer courtesy rides within a five mile radius and have an arrangement with Avis for $22 a day car rental if you were needing a vehicle to drive while we work on yours. We have a night drop box for after hour convenience. We accept M/C, Visa, Discover, and Cash.

They were a little expensive, a little pricey.
I want to preface by saying that we had used Marlow for about a year, and they had been excellent. We had used them three or four times earlier and they had been great, they even fixed a broken door on my Suburban that Christian Brothers couldn't fix. However, in the Fall of 2012 we had a whining power steering problem with the Hyundai and we initially got a $1,000 estimate from Van Hyundai (with a free loaner car), but we called Marlow and Marlow said they could fix it for $600. Well, we got it over there and paid for several days for a rental, and their bill would up being over $1,000 dollars. The car began to whine again within a day or two after we got it back from them, so we brought it back to them again. They kept it a few more days (we paid for more rentals). We got it back and it still whined, just not as loud. At this point, Marlow was proposing a new (expensive) repair proposal because what they had done so far had not worked. Frustrated, we declined. We drove the car a few more months and the whining got so loud it was unbearable. We took the car to Eckert Hyundai and they found the problem. It was some sort of cheap plastic part that had cracked. They fixed the car for less than $150. That fiasco with Marlow probably cost me somewhere between $1,400 and $2,000 when you count the car rental. They had done good work in the past, but I'm done.
The repairs to the Calliber were quite costly:: the alternator had to be replaced and the rattling noise we heard at every bump turned out to be the struts, which would also need to be replaced and the brakes rotors were worn. Bill the Owner called me himself to give me the news, but offered a complimentary service to lessen the sting.
Jeff has been there for several years and runs the front office with Bill and Candy, the owners. Although I do see Bill in the repair bays with Charlie, one of their mechanics who I have spoken to often over the years. It's nice to find a family owned auto repair shop where you can get to know the staff and trust what they are telling you.
Thanks Marlow. Thanks Angie's list
