BOUGHT NEW 20 CB IN FRIDAIRE FREEZER IN DEC 21013 AND IN MAY OF 2014 FREEZER BURNS UP AND I LOST A LOT OF FOOD.  I CONTACTED LOWES CUSTOMER SERVICE AND WAS GIVEN A CLAIM NUMBER FOR REPAIRMAN TO COME OUT.  WAITED TWO WEEKS FOR REPAIRMAN TO SHOW UP AND HE LASTED 10 MINS IN MY HOUSE TOLD ME HE NEEDED TO ORDER TWO PARTS FOR FREEZER.  THE SECOND TIME A DIFFERENT REPAIRMAN SHOWS UP AND TELLS ME THE FIRST REPAIRMAN DIDN'T ORDER THE PART NEEDED TO FIX FREEZER, SO HE HAS TO ORDER A DIFFERENT PART.  THIRD TIME HE CAME OUT HE PUT PART IN AND SAID IT WOULD TAKE 4 TO 5 HOURS FOR FREEZER TO COOL DOWN.  TODAY IS JUNE 22, 2014 AND MY FREEZER TEMP IS SETTING AT 89 DEGREES AND  IS STILL NOT WORKING AND LOWES HAS PASSED THIS BUCK TO FRIDAIRE AND BACK AND FORTH.  I AM VERY UNHAPPY WITH BOTH LOWES AND FRIDAIRE FOR THEIR TOTAL LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM.  THE REPAIRMAN WHO ARE CONTRACTED OUT BY LOWES ARE HORRIBLE.  MY FREEZER IS LESS THAN 7 MOS OLD AND I CAN'T GET ANYONE TO HELP ME GET THIS THING RESOLVED.  OBTW, THE INSIDED OF FREEZER IS BURNED FROM HEATING COIL BURNING UP.  I JUST GLAD MY HOUSE DIDN'T CATCH ON FIRE FROM THIS FAULTY FREEZER WHICH FRIDAIRE WONT DECLARE A LEMMON.  I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER PRODUCT FROM LOWES AGAIN.

I had a bad experience with them.  They did a terrible shoddy job.  They came out and replaced the windows.  They didn’t redo what they tore off.  They were pretty responsive.

I'm so glad we decided to go with Lowe's rather than acting as our own general contractor!  Paying a middle-man was so worth it!  We sat down with Laurie at the Lowe's located at 5001 North Central Expressway in Plano and she couldn't have been nicer, or attentive...plus, she was funny.  We told her we were going to be installing granite counter tops in our kitchen and laundry room and were also installing new faucets, a new dishwasher, and cook top.  Since we really didn't care for any granite samples she had in the store, she told us to go to Arizona Tile and see if we could find one we liked.  We had no idea there were so many colors and patterns of granite.  We found one we loved and called Laurie with the name of the granite and the next day she called us with a price for the granite, including installation, so we went in and opened up our checkbook.  At that time, Laurie also helped us select new faucets and sinks and spent lots of time going over all the details of the contract, which was to include the granite/installation, plus sinks installation/plumbing, plus install/hookup of new dishwasher and cooktop .  Prior to our granite being installed, I called Laurie several times with questions.  If she wasn't able to talk with me right at that moment, she said she would call me back in a minute and literally, she always did.  From start to finish everyone of Lowe's sub-contractors did an on-time, outstanding, professional, meticulous job.  Never once were we told something was going to happen within a certain time frame and it did not happen.  Every single phase of the job was on time and done right.  The measurements, were spot on, the tear out of the backsplash didn't damage one speck of my Venetian Plaster walls, the craftsmanship of the granite work was gorgeous and perfect, the plumbing work was absolutely done right, and the clean up of the whole job passed the white glove test.  Lowe's really, really did right by us, with outstanding sub-contractors and outstanding customer service.  Laurie is a gem and Lowe's is very fortunate to have her.  I would highly recommend this particular Lowe's to anyone!

Three weeks later, the door arrived at the store, but there is no arrival quality control at Lowe's. The installation was scheduled for 7 am the next Saturday. Installer arrived on time, unpacked door, discovered it was damaged during shipping and left to return it for reorder. This sequence was repeated 3 more times. (Jeld-Wen, the manufacturer, was not waiting for the paint to dry before packaging the door for shipment. The door and frame would stick together and when the door was opened, paint and wood would tear off the frame.) On the third time, installer checked door on pick-up, discovered the same damage, and left the door at store. However, no one bothered to call to tell us 7 am Saturday installation was cancelled. When I called at 8:30 to find out where installer was, I was told installation was cancelled but they could not call customer before 9 am.  I pointed out that was a completely stupid rule to follow for a 7 am installation. (Apparently, they are not allowed to use their brains while working at the store.) Eventually, on the 5th try, the door arrived at the store undamaged and installation was scheduled for October 9th (3 MONTHS AFTER THE PRE-PAID ORDER). Door installation was very professionally done within the allotted time.

No one in management at store would take responsibility for quality control, but sales specialists in the window & door area were very sympathetic and went out of their way to try to help, include expediting the several re-orders. Worst custom-order experience ever!  We will never order another custom door through Lowe's.
