We could not be happier. I am way overdue to write this review because the work was done summer of 2018, but at least I can say it has held up beautifully. Ken is a prince to work with. I highly recommend Leak-Tech.

In 2015 I hired Leak Tech to find a pool leak and they did a great job and I left a positive review. Unfortunately I thought they would do equally as well replastering the pool. I was very wrong. The pool surface was redone in November of 2018. The initial installation looked terrible. The edges of the steps went from nice and straight and well defined to a wavy rounded mess. The formerly smooth pool surface ended up very uneven and full of divots, waves, and trowel marks. The plaster crew did come back several hours after they completed the surface to try and correct the many errors in the installation. But I think that lead to the problems we are now seeing. Less than a year later the pool surface looks even worse, with rough areas all along the tile line and white spotting everywhere. In spite of the pool chemistry being fine (other than copper levels of .03 and some phosphates) it was determined it is not an installation or warranty issue. Leak Tech did send the plasterer out and also a company representative. While the Leak Tech representative agreed the surface did not look good, but it was still ok by their standards. I now either have to live with a pool that looks like it's ten years old and or pay another company to try and repair the damage done by Leak Tech.

"I wish to respectfully refute much of what is stated in this review. The surface looks just fine (and we are one year in). There is some minor discoloration in the plaster, but nothing out of line with white plaster and the pool has to be drained down to really see the discoloration. With all plaster, you get some color variation. However, it can be a bit more noticeable with white plaster, especially if you drain the pool! Plaster is made with cement, marble dust and water. It is NOT a pure white like a paint. Also, this customer has a high copper count, according to a 3rd party analysis. This is turning some of the areas green. Getting their water chemistry in line will help the color spotting they are seeing. The pictures attached are with the pool empty. I agree that any new plaster surface looks ugly before it gets filled up. Plaster is hand troweled so it is never glass smooth. The crews do their best to smooth it out by hand. Also, a 2nd or 3rd coat of plaster tends to exaggerate any flaws that already existed in the shell, especially edges of steps and benches. After we had plastered, the customers asked us to come back and smooth out the edge of the step and we did just that. They were happy with how everything looked when we left. And once the pool was filled up and brushed out, the minor flaws were not visible. We try to make each customer happy and I am truly sorry we could not do that in this case. Respectfully, Ken"

Paul arrived on-time and after I detailed what was happening with my pool leak he immediately suspected that it was related to my skimmer boxes. He found a leak in both skimmers and fixed them within an hour. He also checked other potential leak points like the underwater light and a pump discharge nozzle and no additional leaks were found. I was very satisfied with the service and would hire them again.

It was wonderful not only did they clean my pool they cleaned my filters put chemicals in there strub the walls off the swimming pool and the guy was sweet must have been there for a little over 2 hours

We had Leak-Tech detect, find, and repair a cracked pipe from our attached spa. Earler this summer our spa again started losing water overnight. I dug up the area from the previous leak and found this odd conglomeration of necked down pipes and 90s that was the original repair. It was leaking badly. Contacted leak tech with the understanding that the warranty was only a year and the year had passed but wanted to give them chance to review their work. They were too busy to send a tech out to check if it was a workmanship issues and just decided to blame it on ground movement and gladly offered to charge me to perform an additional leak test. Sent them pictures and videos of the leaking repair. Multiple emails back and forth with them telling me the leak was not bad enough to warrant the loss of water, wanting to charge me to redo the leak test, and recommending I replace check valves. After sending them a clear video of the amount of water coming out of their repair, they said they would repair the leak for the same price ($875) as they had charged to fix it originally. I had three other companies look at the leak. All 3 basically said, the original repair was a mess and unnecessarily complicated. All 3 said the repair could be done correctly for about $200-$300. I chose a company and they repaired the leak for less then 1/4 of the leak-tech quote but they also found that the original repair was not even attached to the spa properly and had been leaking for awhile. I contacted Leak-Tech to let them know the result and the response was; they were sorry I had a bad experience with their company.

"[Member Name Removed] and I did email back and forth quite a bit concerning the leak. Our schedule is currently 2-3 weeks out and I was trying to get him taken care of as soon as possible. Because it was not in warranty, we were going to need to charge for a leak test if we needed one. I was trying to save him the money of the leak test if possible, which is why I had several email conversations with him. His first emails said he dug up the leak and it was only a drip. I quoted the repair and said we could do that for him, but explained that just a drip was not going to cause the water loss he was seeing. He then emailed back later stating that it was much more than a drip. At that point, I agreed that it made sense to do the repair first then do a leak test if it was still leaking after that repair. Once again, I was simply trying to save him costs wherever we could. He let me know that he had a pool guy over to look at the repair. This pool guy said you should never use flex pipe in a repair, although this person most likely never fixed an underground pipe. We have done thousands of repairs in the 25 years we have been in business and we do need to use flex pipe in some cases. With the unstable soil in North Texas, there are cases where we want the repair to be able to flex under continued ground shifting pressure. Our goal is to have high quality service, as well as good communication, at a fair price. It went great! We used Leak Tech a year earlier to fix a leak and they were prompt and professional, so when it came time to remodel the pool we gave them a call. Ken, the owner, came out to walk the job and listened to our ideas. the quote was quick and he included everything we discussed and even gave us some additional enhancement ideas. We had other remodeling companies come out and their quotes were never as comprehensive and complete as Leak Tech's. Our pool was a disaster! It was 20 years old, had several cracks, not level and really showing its age. After Leak Tech was done it is absolutely stunning. We feel like we're visiting a resort, the transformation was absolutely amazing. The work went quickly, the crews were professional and there was never any trash left at the end of the day (couldn't say that about the roofers). We made some changes along the way but we knew the extra costs up front and there were no surprises in the end, it was always our choice.

The first technician they sent did a number of tests. He thought he'd fixed it, but the pool continued leaking just the same. They sent a new technician; he found and repaired the issue within 15 minutes and the water is now staying put. He knew which areas had been checked and promptly identified what everyone else had overlooked. So, with a tiny blob of underwater putty, Paul resolved our leak. Everyone we encountered while doing business with LEAK-TECH was very nice and communications were prompt.

Paul came out and very quickly identified the leak. It was actually not in a "typical" spot as it was behind our waterfall. He repaired the leak a few days later and the pool is no longer leaking and I do not need to ad water every day to maintain the proper water level. Paul was also very knowledgeable and did not mind explaining the process for finding the leak and how he planned to repair it. I will call them again in the future if I need any additional work done.
