If you do business with Hobert Pools, MAKE SURE you do not provide them with final payment until you have received everything. Especially the final inspections. I have a neighbor that travels months at a time and I cannot get hold of him. In order to pass my final pool inspection, we have to have anti-climbing rails installed on both of my neighbors fence since the poles are on their side. I cannot pass my final inspection until the rails are installed, or the city inspector approves that they do not have to be installed (Which he has not approved). Hobert began building my pool on 09/19/18 and completed it on 01/21/19. I have to reach out constantly to Hobert to find out the status of my permit and what they are doing to try and resolve. My Hobert salesman, Victor Mueller indicates that I need to reach out to the city myself to try and get the final inspection passed, or keep trying to reach out to my neighbor "To See" if they will allow me to install the rails on their fence. He indicated that the neighbor cannot be gone forever. He also indicated that I am letting my emotions get the best of me and that I need to use facts and common sense and not anger and exaggerations. Everything I've discussed with them have been facts and I feel that I have the absolute right to be angry, or upset with the lack of customer service and the feeling that Hobert is screwing me now that they have their final payment. I am being asked to complete the work that I paid them $65k to complete. By the way, the issue with the neighbor being absent constantly was discussed prior to starting the pool.

Short: Working with Hobert gave us the best value, giving us a quality pool with minimal to zero issues. We are extremely happy with our pool and hot tub and all the associated work that was done along with it, including fence, concrete work, and etc. Long: This was our first experience with getting a home pool built. We evaluated up to 10 different pool builders and had 6 come to our house to do an assessment and provide a quote. We had used Angies List, Google reviews, and recommendations from friends in the area. Of all the builders we talked to, Hobert was simply the easiest to deal with and most responsive. I may be wrong, but I think some of the other builders just were not interested after hearing of our budget and discussing what we wanted to get done. It was no chump change either, but maybe due to such increased interest in pools, there's just too much business available with higher amounts than what we were willing to spend. We decided to go with Hobert (Murphy). Chris was very helpful in talking about the design and costs, and again, very responsive to all of our questions and concerns. We were in no hurry to get the pool done, as long as it wasn't ridiculous. The build started in July and finished in early October, with all the rain in the area causing some of the delays. Throughout the build process, we were kept aware of what was going on by Angela, who did all the scheduling, and between Jeremy and Adam, who managed the build itself. We were amazed at how the constructions site looked at every phase, getting closer to the final product. And when they finished, we were absolutely happy with the result. With all that could have gone wrong, we were extremely happy that it did not, and that it was as smooth as it could have been. There were a few areas of concern - damaged sidewalk, unrepairable fence gate, flooding on one side due to clogging of drains, unsmooth cut of a couple of the stones - but they were all resolved quickly and with no additional issues. When comparing pricing to friends who had pools built 4-6 years ago, the price of building a pool has simply skyrocketed, up to 30, 50%. Even still, Hobert had the most reasonable pricing among the 6 builders we talked to - half of which quoted over 6 figures. Overall, we are happy we went with Hobert. We have also signed up for their weekly service, mainly due to concerns of warranties and making sure the pool equipment is maintained properly. At some point, however, once we get comfortable and familiar, we may just do the maintenance ourselves. Good luck.

Everyone from Patti at the front desk, Kurt designing the pool, Steve managing construction and the crews for each stage of the build were awesome. They were always there anytime we had a question. They always made sure that the pool design and construction was exactly what we wanted and expected. After the pool was completed, Kurt came to our house to make sure that we were happy with the end result. I highly recommend the Rockwall office and all employees.

After contacting multiple pool contractors and receiving their bids, PJ from Hobert Pools was company we selected.  The original builder of the pool (Mastercraft Pools) gave us attitude when inspecting the pool.  We had several structural cracks in the pool (1997).  All other contractors would just walk around and within 20 seconds throw out a price anywhere from $3000 to $9000 to repair.  PJ from Hobert took the time to closely examine the structure, and made sure that we understood exactly what was involved, and why they were doing what they propose.

The attention to detail, the cleanliness of the site, and the follow-up and honest, timely replies to our questions gave us 100% satisfaction with the job done.  We have even entered into a maintainance contract with them because of their professionalism.

They did a very good job. The pool and the hot tub they installed was nice and they did a good. I was not impressed with their follow up. A few years later we started having some problems with their salt water pool system and they just didn't do a very good job to help us. In order to fix it they would pretty much have to reinstall the whole pool system. It took them about a day to dig the hole and it looked like a pool in about three days, and then took a couple of months before the pool itself was solid. The price was competitive.

Overall we are happy with the pool. Jeff (Sales/Design) made the designing and buying process easy, although we did have a few concerns with communications. The project started as scheduled and most of the sub companies did a very good job. We had Oklahoma Flagstone installed for our pool coping and the borders on the hot tub. The guys that did the stone work did an exceptional job and the fit/finish is perfect. I have had to have service come to the house to fix some of the mastic on the edges of the pool, and the response and repair work was very good. In the middle of the project we made several changes to the design (more cement patio square footage and we adjusted the waterfall to add a 5 tier step design). The company was responsive and the additional work was performed well. Communications with the site supervisor were spotty and at times we had to call again for the same issue/request. Overall, I would use Hobert Pools again for my next pool project.
