 + -1 moreCalled these guys when our AC wouldn't work. Arrived promptly, no problems. We could hear the condenser trying to start but it just couldn't. Technician arrived (Kelly Savage) and went out back to check it. Came back with bad news -- Unit was dead and would have to be replaced. Plus it was undersized and would really need to be upgraded (which is probably true.) Anyway, I specifically asked "Can't you just add a capacitor to it to help it start?" (I know a tad about these things.) He replied that it had a factory "Hard start" kit on it already, that this was bigger and better than anything they carried and that if it wouldn't start with that, it was not going to. We got our $6k estimate the next day. We called another company for a 2nd opinion. They arrived within the hour. Found the factory hard start kit had failed (it was so corroded that it was oozing chemicals all around it.) Replaced it for $150 and the unit runs just fine.
Description of Work: Checked our non-functioning condenser (outdoor unit.) Declared it dead and would have to be replaced. We paid $75 for the service call.
