Hatfield Builders & Remodelers

Overall I was just disappointed in how everything transpired. I contacted Hatfield about doing a bathroom remodel on our hall bath. They responded promptly, asked me my budget, etc. I had contacted them because they were doing a big kitchen remodel down the street so I thought this might be a good fit since a Project Manager was already two doors down. Hatfield does pretty big jobs so I thought they might not be interested in a small bathroom remodel but we were willing to spend 15-20k on the remodel so it wasn't just tile job or something. Anyway, they said they were interested...so... I was contacted two days later by the project manager to schedule a time to swing by and check out our project so he could give us a bid. He looked at our bathroom and thought it would be a pretty simple project (basically a gut and redo) of our hall bath and he thought it would be easy to get it done because he was working down the street anyway. So, he left with his notes to get us a bid. Well, a week went by and we received no bid. Another week went by and still no bid. I contacted them and they said, "we should be getting you your bid tomorrow. " Well, three days later he calls me and says..."well, we've been reviewing your bids and we think you could probably get this done cheaper with another contractor. I don't even really have a number I can give you." So, I waited over three weeks to get a bid that they kept promising me but they never gave me. I understand if my project might have been too small for a contractor like Hatfield but I am just disappointed they wasted so much of my time and never even gave me a bid when I could have been working with other contractors. I wish they had just told me from the beginning that it was too small of a job. Anyway, they were nice but it was just a disappointing experience.

All materials were delivered in house prior to start of job. Project timeline was accurate; they actually finished 4 days earlier than quoted. Prices were very comparable to other contractor services. As a few minor issues arose and needed attention, they were resolved promptly and in an acceptable manner to me. During the work, my family stayed inside the home. All of the workers were very respectful, efficient, and were very nice to my 7-year old children. I felt secure in all of my dealings with Hatfield Builders and all of their employees, which is a testament to how they run their business. I am a pleased customer, and have referred them to many friends.
