We found the crew led by Michael to be very friendly and courteous; however, that is where the pleasant experiences ended.
We asked for touch up painting to be performed in our kitchen and family room areas.  This task should have taken maybe half to one day to perform.  Instead, the painter spent all week in the family room.  An additional painter was brought in on Tuesday or Wednesday that week to assist with touch up painting.
Keep in mind that I was puzzled by this additional person because I had contracted for 2 people for the week for $150 an hour.  Since I was not consulted about this extra person, I assumed this was at the company's expense.  The crew brought bondo in (yes the car body repair product) and used it all over the family room.  In fact, it was globbed on my ceiling to the point that later I had to hire a painter to repair this company's work.
Michael started many projects around our house all week and completed very few of them.  During the week I noticed that Michael routinely took 2 or more hour lunches.
Also Michael made  2 to 4 hour trips to Home Depot, although Home Depot is only 2 miles from my house.  There were no items that were special order and all products needed were readily available on the shelf.  In fact, I personally purchased many of the items myself and left them in bags in the garage for his use in my home.
I made notes about his arrival and departure times at my home and estimate that he worked 21 to 25 hours for me that week.
At the end of the week, Michael prepared an invoice for us.  Firstly, I was shocked to see that Michael billed me for 40 hours of his own time even though I had notes that indicated he had only worked for 21-25 hours.  Secondly, I was further shocked to see that I was billed for the additional painter they brought to our home even though I neither was consulted about this extra worker nor did I approve any additional workers.
Again, I did not say a word and simply wrote a check for $7,250 as I would take the matter up with the management of the company.
After Michael and the crew left for the long Labor Day weekend, I called the office but instead got an answering service lady.  I explained the problems I encountered and believed that there needed to be some accommodation made for the false billing given me.  The lady said she was the answering service but would certainly pass my message along to Caroline, the office manager.  She also said I should expect a call Tuesday after Labor Day.
To date, today is September 23, 2014, I have never received any communication from Caroline or any other representative of HandyPro Handyman Service although my check has cleared the bank.
I suspect bad business practices are pervasive in this company because on Tuesday after Labor Day, Michael showed up at my door to  go to work.  I asked him if Caroline told him I had fired their company the previous Friday and he told me that no one at his company had told him anything.
I will never allow this company to provide any services for me ever again.  In my opinion, I believe it is unwise for anyone to contract with them.
