He did a good job, but he exceeded his quote. He quoted $95, but the bill grew to $150 with little explanation.

I had an approx. 8 year old Howard Miller Mantle Clock that stopped working. I found D.K. Clock Shop on Angies List, and took my clock in for repair. After looking and the clock mechanism I was quoted a fixed price of $165 to clean, lubricate, and repair the clock. I was told he was backed up with work and it would be 3-5 weeks to complete the job. Payment was to be made upon picking up the clock. Approximately 4 weeks later I got a call to pick up the clock. It now works perfectly and keeps better time than in ever has. I am very happy with the service provided.

After DK clock Shop did a great job on a schoolhouse clock, I brought our mantle clock in for cleaning. It had not been chiming the correct hour and not keeping the correct time. Like our other clock, he told me that the mantle clock needed to be oiled once a year and cleaned about every 10 years. He kept the clock for several weeks and called when it was ready. When I picked it up, he spent time telling me how to operate the clock. He also pulled out information to tell me about the history of the clock. You can tell that this shop is interested in preserving good clocks.

He did what he said he'd do, and he did it in less time then he said. He had said two weeks, but called after a week and a half to say it was ready. It works fine.

The service technician came out to our house punctually.  He was very complimentary about our clock - one that my grandfather made about 20 years ago.  He cleaned all the parts and put it together - we had it moved professionally from my deceased grandmother's home in Ohio to our Frisco, TX home.

He could not get the clock to work, however.  He said the problem was with the bushings.  We have no prior knowledge on grandfather's clocks.  He educated us the best he could, and explained the bushings and that he could rebuild the part in his workshop.  The repairs were going to cost upwards of $500.  We really felt that we needed to think about that and get comfortable with that decision.

We just had a gut feeling telling us to get another opinion, and we're glad we did just that.

He solved the problem. He has repaired our grandfather clock in the past, also doing a good job with it.

Our schoolhouse wall clock had been packed up for about 10 years. When we finally had a space for it and unpacked the clock, it would not properly keep time. It would run for a few minutes and then stop. I took it into D.K. Clock Shop and was told that the clock should be oiled every year and thoroughly cleaned every 5-7 years. I was told that they would have to dismantle the workings of the clock and clean every piece. The work would take about a month because they had a lot of clocks ahead of mine. The price was high but I had held onto this clock for a long time and wanted to get it working. I picked it up in about a month and placed it on the wall. It was keeping perfect time, but I noticed that it was not striking the hour. I took it back to D.K. Clock Shop. The repairman said that he would need to keep the clock about two weeks to fix. Since I picked up the clock a second time, it has perfectly functioned. I was pleased the D.K. Clock Shop was committed to get the clock properly running.

I inherited my Mother's mini grandfather clock & it was running slow.  I consulted Angie's List & chose to take it to D.K. Clock.  The owner showed me a way to adjust the pendulum to speed the clock up, told me the clock should be cleaned every 5 years & oiled every 1-2 years.  I left it with him to oil & picked it up on the date he promised.

The clock has run perfectly since he came out, and my parents are extremely happy that it's running, and that the chimes sound better. Very good experience overall.

He reviewed clock and gave me a quote for $258. Told me clock would be ready after the Christmas Holidays. I called him on Monday after 3 weeks and he said that it would be ready the following week. He called me back in a few days to say it was now ready. Clock seems OK so far, I will see after a few years if he did his job correctly.

I had an extremely high comfort level by the good recommendations from Angie's List magazine. The service provider showed up on time. He is very knowledgeable, honest and customer centered.

Don personally went over all the options at the counter, told me exactly what each was going to cost, and gave me the pros and cons. I made my choice, and he had the clock repaired in 24 hours with parts on hands. I couldn't be happier.
