The stain job was above average. Not completely smooth, but the young man did put a lot of effort into it. All the tasks, except for Electronic lock, were completed that day. They had a lot of issues figuring out the Lock mechanism which was more like a custom job rather than routine. They said they would come back the next day but did not return due to another job. I had to give the owner a call since my front door security was being compromised. He did come over next day, figured out what had to be done and completed the job.
In summary, I would hire them again. The bottom line is that in many jobs of this nature, the work doesn?t always go smoothly. People can and do mistakes. What I liked about CTG Custom Tile, is when they did not get it right the first time, they were customer-centric enough to make the effort and complete the job to the homeowner?s satisfaction.
Scheduling was fairly easy; however, they went to the wrong address and ended up arriving at my house an hour late. Again, not a huge deal, but I did leave work early to accomodate the scheduled time, only to sit and wait. They did call to apologize.
The owner sent 2 people to my house with the expectation that 1 person would do the patch and the other would complete the 2 ceiling fans and be done in 2.5 hours to make up the 5 hours. That should have been the case, but he sent 1 moderately experienced worker and one completely inexperienced worker. In short, 2.5 hours had passed and the patch hadn't been completed and the first ceiling fan wasn't up. I was getting concerned. I asked the guys how it was going and they said that they would finish quickly. Not at all the case.
To try to keep this short, they didn't leave my house until they had both been there 6 hours! Then, they tried to charge me for the 12 hours of labor!!! In addition, the patch wasn't properly completed, and one of the ceiling fans still doesn't work correctly. I talked to the owner and told him I wasn't paying 12 hours of labor for the amount and quality of work I received. I will give the owner credit. He tried to work it out. It just really wasn't possible to "mend the fence" at this point. I paid a small additional fee for a portion of the overrun of the hours, as I expected to do, and he came and repaired the patch properly...but made a significant mess in my closet.
These guys may be OK for tile, but I will not be letting them do any further work in my house.

The installers were super-nice.
I like these people.
I felt they were not professional or prompt. Now I have tiles set but not grout and skim coat, but no texture or paint. I will now have to find someone else to finish the job because I will not have them come back to finish it.
"The crew I sent did not have time to finish the painting because they spent most of their time caulking and sanding down the windows, we quoted him 100-150 for finishing the paint job that being 2-3 hours of time, he was UN willing to pay more than 100 for the remaining work. The room was crammed with furniture close to a foot from the wall. and another crew was working in the room while my workers where there which did slow them down as well. I am sorry he was dis-satisfied, but believe it does not at all represent the quality of our finished work considering we were not able to finish. With tight scheduling I told him I might not be able to send someone else If he did not want the crew that was there to finish."
