+ -1 moreFirst, he had help in removing a very heavy cast iron tub. Then he repaired an existing leak in the drainage. The installation of the two shower fixtures were next. Application of the tiling was next, which took the most time, as Allen insisted on exact leveling of each tile before applying the next. After taking me with him to select the exact piece of granite (color, pattern, and motif) that I liked. He then had that delivered and cut to the precise configuration desired; then he installed the plumbing for the sink, and then installed that granite on the counter and the shower seat. Texturing and painting of the walls followed, and finally the installation of the shower door which had to be specially cut to the unusual configuration. All seams were sealed with clear silicone grouting, and then the bathroom was presented to me for final approval. (This is not to imply that I only had one final approval; he had asked all during the job my opinion of the ongoing project.)
Description of Work: Completely remodeled bathroom, including installation of tile as required (including tiling flooring in the shower with tile which is of a very rough surface to avoid slipping of a disabled person); installation of multiple grab bars to assist in maintaining balance, installation of granite seat in the shower, with a separate shower head in addition to regular shower head to enable seated person to shower with a hand-held shower head; installation of new taller toilet for disabled person, installation of granite counter top with built-in sink, all new fixtures, and partial floor tiling in toilet area; removal of furdown from room and installation of new light fixtures, including new heating unit, and retexturing and repainting of entire room. Allen was meticulous in his work, taking a much longer time to "get it right" than the initial estimate. He was exacting in the performance of the task, and was rigorous in the entire task. When he had to use other helpers, he was strict in his oversight of the helpers, demanding work was up to his standards.

+ 5 moreThe owner Allan Laduca worked with one partner, and did not sub contract any work out, and they were absolutely wonderful. They gave me on estimate, and it did fluctuate, but didn't change too much. They did everything that I asked, there was nothing too large or too small for them to handle. Allan and his team came behind two other horrible contractors who had stolen $10,000's. They corrected lots of bad job. They were very patient and understanding. I worked on the site with them doing work along side of them for two months every single day and they never once complained! If I didn't know about something they taught me and they were very patient with me. We had a great working relationship. I would recommend them to anyone and if it were not for them I probably would not have been able to finish my house.
Description of Work: They remodeled two bathrooms, completed a laundry room, installed shelving in two bedroom closets, laid the wood floor in the kitchen, they put up sheet rock and textured walls, installed all "finish-outs" including: door knobs and accessories, they did a little plumbing work, and refinished about 1000 sq ft of wood flooring that is about 100 yr old pecan flooring.
