My yard looks great, as usual. I have used this service for about 3 years for weekly mowing during the growing season, leaf cleanup, shrub pruning , flower bed cleanout, aeration, and periodic weed prevention treatment when needed. The crew consists of 2 or 3 uniformed men who are documented, professional, friendly and thorough. I did all of this work for over 50 years alone and know firsthand the effort it takes to maintain a good looking yard. I wish I had heard of College Fund Landscaping many years ago. Like the name implies, Matt Davis, the Owner, shares part of the proceeds of his business every year with several deserving high school seniors through college scholarships.

It went really well. The project was delayed a few weeks . It was due to weather. Couldn't get turf cut because of rain but they got right to it when the weather cleared. They did a reall nice job. We are about to get our first mow as we waited until we could see if the grass took. Every thing is great.We really appreciated the discount we were able to get because of Angies's List.

They did a wonderful job mowing, edging, and cleaning up my yard. They also employ very pleasant people who are careful not to let my dog out if I forget to keep her in. I have two issues that a new customer should be aware of: first, it is important to let them know when to stop and start mowing, otherwise they will mow your lawn before the grass has started growing in the spring and will stop mowing at Thanksgiving, and second they will put a mechanics lien on your house if you don't pay. A lien was placed on my house because I owed them for mowing. It was my fault that I hadn't paid, I've just have had some problems with my notes, but that is no excuse. They said they called me several times, but if they did, they did not leave a message. Just FYI for a new customer. Don't know if I'll choose them for the spring, but on the other hand, they might not want me!

They are great and they are highly recommended. They actually did a trim job on one of my trees and I was not happy with and I called the owner who came out immediately and said that since I was not happy with it he would fix it and he did. It happened fast. They did also did a little bit of extra trimming and clean up for me which was kind of a gratitude for being patient. They were very responsive. Normally things are done very well and if they are not they are remediated quickly. He is a small company and that is why his service is so good, but for projects there is a little bit of a wait time. I do not know if he could improve that.

Just wanted to take a moment to brag on the crew. I'm so appreciative for the excellence with which they care for my lawn. The small things make a huge difference. This morning I saw them pulling out the growth that squeezes through between the house foundation and the patio. Most companies wouldn't have seen that or addressed it.

They did mowing, edge trimming and blowing. Arrived on specified date and did a good work. Phone calls and emails to the office were met with a courteous response. Overall they did a good job.
The only negative: when I asked for a quote on removing some bushes, shrubs they provided a higher estimate than most other providers.

We also guarantee our plants and work so our costs might be higher than our competitors who do not provide these reassurances."

They do just enough to get by, or should i say get one over on there customers, They haven't returned a call other than to start the service. We have called to ask about services they were supposed to provide us with and have never had a return call. After 3 years of being overcharged and them never, and i mean never meeting there contractual obligation, we called to cancel the service and stop the billing. We left multiple messages on 12-16-10 and heard nothing back from them although they did try to send a crew to mow today. They have never done all that they were hired to do, paid to do or contractually obligated to do. But i am going to have to pay someone to do the trees just like i do every year although they have already been paid to do it 3 years running. Since they wont return our calls, i am going to have to go and hand deliver the cancellation, I only wish it was worth the time and money to take them to court. My advice it to stay away from these overpriced scam artist, they are not capable of doing what they are supposed to do. I believe i can legitimately say this as they have been ripping my family off for 3 years.

"Unfortunately, when the customer called we were out of the office attending a funeral and returned the phone call immediately upon receiving the voicemail. The customer's voicemail box was full so we were unable to leave a message, instead we sent an email trying to address the situation. We did not complete any work in December per the customer's request and did not charge for any services in December. We offered to come by and complete any work the customer felt was done unsatisfactory even with the understanding that they were not going to continue service with our company. We have refunded three months of service in the amount of $470.88. We stand behind our work and will redo anything in question at no charge and/or provide a refund. The property in question was not being overcharged. According the Collin County Appraisal district this property is 11040 sq. feet so we based our price upon those measurements. It is unfortunate that we were unable to meet this customers needs but we do feel a three month refund and an offer to come back at no extra charge to complete any unsatisfactory work is proof that we are a reputable company."

College Fund Landscaping has been doing my lawn maintenance for a number of years so when we decided to redo our landscaping we had Matt give us a design and estimate. We wanted a complete redo including the sprinklers redone in the front and the old shrubs out along with the beds redone and new stone borders. Matt and College Fund did a unbelievable job. In fact the job is so good that we have had friends tell us that we now have the best looking home in the neighborhood and that it is the one of the most beautiful fronts they have seen. I even had a stranger that was out for a walk knock on the door to ask who did the project. We have lived here for a number of years and had several major projects done to our house but the job that College Fund Landscaping did for us was by a mile the best of any of the projects in responsiveness, quality and service.

We had a large oak tree that needed pruning and several branches needed to be cut back. The branches were hanging over the house and we were nervous that they would break off in a storm and damage the roof. The landscape service was very professional. They arrived when they said they would and did quality work. The tree looked healthy again. They also left the yard so clean, there were no left over braches or stray leaves where they had done all that trimming. All of the branches were piled neatly for trash pick up. I was very impressed and would definitely use this service again.
