Mr. John Cahill, owner of Cahill Inspection, is a consummate, seasoned professional whom I have known personally (full disclosure of relationship) and recommended over the years to many satisfied people. Recently I used his services for the first time, and learned why people I gave his name to were so pleased. Mr. Cahill arrived on time, ready to work, and brought all necessary equipment and tools with him. He even removed his shoes at the door to keep the inside of the house in the same condition he found it! He did a thorough inspection, ran the dishwasher full cycle, checked water flow to the sewer, and performed other tests. His pricing was competitive, higher than some quickie inspectors, and lower than some other less experienced inspectors. He produced a computer generated multi-page report and supported his findings objectively with digital pictures of observable, accessible conditions. He included a drawing of the perimeter to point out potential, future foundation repairs, and recommended I consult with an engineer if I was concerned. He alerted me to a plumbing anomoly that could have cost me $5K to repair down the road. Quite a savings compared to what Mr. Cahill might charge for an inspection. Mr. Cahill patiently went over his findings in detail and answered all of my questions, contributing to my peace of mind as a new home buyer. My home was less than 1400 square feet, a single story with a slab foundation, and fairly new. These factors determine Mr. Cahill's fees; which I like better than a "one price fits all" as not all houses are the same. Mr. Cahill's website lists his impressive credentials, and has great information for home buyers, which helped me have great peace of mind to buy a home for the first time as a single parent.
