Description of Work: Condenser wouldn't work when we tried to turn the system on after the fall/winter. Technician found the broken part immediately, had the replacement part with him and the fix was a breeze.

Description of Work: 20 year old AC unit not cooling up to snuff. They came out, did a leak check, and added freon to the system. At my request, they put together a quote for a new system using a couple different options.

Description of Work: Danny and Brenda (the owners) came out today on a Sunday to resolve an issue with my AC unit after a slightly unsuccessful service call. I've used their services for as long as I've been in my home (10 years) and Danny has never fails to impress me as the 'AC Whisperer' and he takes care of business. He's going to have the entire issue solved tomorrow and I don't even need to be home or take the day off to do it.

Description of Work: Both of my air conditioner units went out at the same time in 105 degree weather. The technician came out and after extensive diagnostics found that the compressors were bad and needed to replace both units. Thier schedule was full, but the company moved thier schedule around to replace my units. They did a greaat job at a fair price. I will definitely use AIR TODAY again.

Description of Work: We received same-day, efficient service in the first hour of the appointment window. Work was preformed quickly and our air conditioner was operational again in less than 30 minutes.

Description of Work: AC unit was not cooling. Technician came first thing the next morning and found that the capacitor was bad. He replaced the capacitor and the unit resumed working normally.

Description of Work: I am not sure how to rate this company. I had an emergency, and this was one of the few companies that even took my call on a Friday evening, and agreed to come on a Saturday without an additional charge. They also agreed to waive the service charge because I was an angies list customer. They were prompt and on time. Appreciate that very much. Everything was great about them except that they we not transparent with their pricing. They told me that they only charge for parts, unless the repair takes a long time, or if it's something like adding refrigerant. It turns out that depending on what the part is, their markup is anywhere from 5 times to 20 times: they had to replace a capacitor and charged me a $181 for it ( the price of the capacitor) . Well it turns out the capacitor costs anywhere from just $5 - $20!! When I called them later about it, they right away agreed to bring the price down to $100- without a fight!! Not something expected of a contractor rated so highly on Angies. I understand they have a business to run and have to make a living, so they can't just charge me $5 if that is all the part costs. But as an Angies customer I expect transparency. I am also sure that is industry-wide practice, not something unique to this contractor, but that doesn't make it right, especially if I asked them about it upfront. So net net, great service, great that they take special care of Angies customers, but I am not sure if I will engage them again.

Description of Work: I called that morning my a/c was out, I had a serviceman by noon. Professional, courteous, explained everything, and reasonably priced. I would use them again.

Description of Work: We were quoted a price to have our lines repaired or have them replaced. The salesman came out and looked at everything and we talked about using their service. After getting a few quotes we determined that Air Today was professional and would get the job done. I called to let them know they had won our business and was told that they could not get to it until next week. I let them know that we are in a dire situation as the household temperature is at 80 and we have an infant. We were actually cooling our crawl space and not our home. The man was so kind and said he would do what he could. He called me back and let me know that someone would be here the next day. Hallelujah! Right? Wrong. The men that showed up here tracked dirt all over the house from the crawl space and adamantly refused to help us.They showed up around 4 pm. When I got home they were on the phone with my husband explaining why they could not do anything for us. This fellow was pacing up and down my living room floor in his work boots talking a mile a minute saying that they were going to have to tear everything out and how messed up our system is. I asked him if they could just patch up the holes in the lines since they were here and he flat out refused to go in our crawl space. He said that he would not fit. I have seen men twice his size crawl in there. They were just ready to start their weekend, it seems. Luckily, my father in law reminded us of a former neighbor that works for a commercial air conditioning repair service. We called him and told him the predicament that we were in and he came right away. He was able to patch our duct work with duct tape and is coming back tomorrow to replace our lines. He fit into the crawl space just fine and it didn't take him very long to complete the job. He is twice the size of the man that was here from Air Today. My first question is this: If the sales person comes out to the house and quotes you a price, doesn't that mean that he believes that his company can perform the service? My second question is this: How was the serviceman who was out here able to describe in detail everything that was wrong with our crawl space but completely unable to identify the holes in our duct work? Lastly: Were these people REALLY trying to take advantage of a young family desperate for cool air for their infant? Are people really that greedy? It just wasn't worth it to them to patch our lines, they wanted to tear out the entire crawl space. This was an enlightening experience to say the least. Thank heavens for good people like the man that just left our house with the air flowing inside our home and not the crawl space. If you are looking for help this summer, and you are in a bind, best you look elsewhere. PS. The repairman saw me swiffering his tracks and offered to clean up after himself. He told me that it was his job to do so. I told him that I would handle it and that they should just go. He insisted and said that he had been reported in the past for not cleaning up after himself. I told him that I would not report him. I meant that until I walked into my bathroom where the alternate access to our crawl space is located. Our bath mats were filthy with footprints and dirt. There was dirt all over the floor. Why didn't he clean that up? May I suggest the sanitary booties that all the other contractors wear when they enter a residence?

Description of Work: We had bad wires on our AC motor that needed reconnecting. Air today was very proffessional, honest, and responsive. Good people that don't over sell or cheat.
