We purchased a floor model couch and loveseat with electric built in recliners in May. The saleswoman told us everything worked on the units. When we got it home one of the electric recliner did not work. the store had us try replacing the power plug in unit but that didn't work. they said they would need to send someone out to check it out but they never did. After multiple calls to the customer service department and being told there was nothing they could do because it was a floor model, I wrote the corporate offices and was told that this is an independent store and referred me back to local customer service. i tried to send an email to the president Michael Levitz at the email address on the information handed out to customers to find out if he would resolve the issue. I got a quick response from his office but was told floor models are sold at a great price and as is. they gave me the name of several repair companies and the phone numbers. If I had read some of the remarks on the store website I would have found this store location has a lot of unhappy customers. Live and learn. Basically if we want it fixed it is out of our pocket.

They delivered the furniture, but the couch would not fit into the room. They were going to charge me $333 (10%) to take it back to the store! I agreed to have them put it in another room, as I did not want to pay to have it taken away. A few days later, one couch had stitching coming out, so after looking at it, they agreed it was faulty and brought a replacement. That one was damaged. So was the 3rd and the 4th replacements. I called the store and said that I wanted my money back and was not satisfied. They said I could get store credit but not a refund. I complained and said that I did not want to ever go to them again and did not want a credit. I finally got a refund, but it was minus about $400 in fees.
Description of Work: I purchased 2 leather couches, one was a sofa sleeper. I also bought a table.

Description of Work: First we purchased a "great" middle of the road Simmons mattress for $1500 (king) in Jan. 2008. Within one year, there were sink holes on both sides of the bed ("indentions"). They were both not over 1 1/2" deep, so we had to wait until they were. In Feb 2010 we were able to finally get a new replacement mattress from Ashley due to the indentions being over 1 1/2" deep and the mattress was deemed "defective". We were encouraged to buy a "better" mattress from a "better" brand, and ended up buying at Stearns and Foster mattress for $2000 (king). The exact same problems are happening again. At 1 year, there were indentions, but not deep enough for warranty replacement. Now, at two years the indentions are 2" and 2 1/2" deep. However, it has been a 3 month arguement back and forth about justifying if this mattress is "defective" or not. The customer service department gives me a different story every time I call; not knowing who is handling the claims and how long claims take. I am always told I will receive a call back, with no return. I called the store manager directly and have gone back and forth with him, and he also has issues returning phone calls.

THE SALES REPRESENTATIVES AT ASHLEY FURNITURE WERE NOT PUSHY, AND LET US LOOK AT OUR OWN PACE. ONCE THE FURNITURE ARRIVED AT THE WAREHOUSE, WE DID HAVE ISSUES WITH THE DELIVERY PROCESS. IN ADDITION, ONE SOFA WE RECEIVED APPEARED TO BE PRE-OWNED (OR USED BEFORE US). OVERALL, SALES DEPT. WAS GREAT, HOWEVER, THE CUSTOMER SERVICE, AND DELIVERY OF OUR PRODUCT WAS LOUSY.

DEC 13TH I CALLED AND ASKED TO SPEAK A MANAGER, JESSIE ANSWERED. HE STATED THAT HE WOULD DELIVER WHAT THEY DID HAVE AT NO EXTRA CHARGE. LATER THAT DAY THE DELIVERY DEPARTMENT CALLED AND SAID DELIVERY WOULD BE WEDNESDAY DEC 15TH. I REQUESTED THURSDAY THE 16TH SO I COULD TAKE OFF WORK. THEY AGREED AND SAID I WOULD RECEIVE A PHONE CALL AND GIVE ME A 4 HOUR TIME PERIOD FOR THE THURSDAY DELIVERY. THEY DIDN'T CALL ON WEDNESDAY. I TOOK OFF WORK THURSDAY, CALLED EARLY IN THE MORNING AND LEFT A MESSAGE BUT DIDN'T RECEIVE A CALL BACK. I CALLED THEM AGAIN AT 10AM AND THE DELIVERY DEPARTMENT SAID A MISTAKE MUST HAVE BEEN MADE BECAUSE THE DELIVERY DATE WAS 17TH. THEY STATED THAT THEY WOULD REIMBURSE 1/2 MY DELIVERY FEE OF $60. I FEEL FOR MY INCONVENIENCE AND ALL I EXPERIENCED THEY SHOULD HAVE GIVEN MORE. I'VE NOT RECEIVED THE ADDITIONAL FURNITURE OR THE CHECK. THEY ARE STILL NOT RETURNING CALLS, AND I NOTICED THE DINING ROOM TABLE WAS DAMAGED DURING DELIVERY.
