Came and found my leak when others could not. Found it in an hour or so and fortunately it was in the front yard. Did the job for a fixed price. Highly recommend.

Six months later the cover to the drain came off. We called them to come back out to put it back on and they never came back. We moved on to someone else.

While doing another project, we found water leak from somewhere. We followed the DIY leak detection test on their website. The result was that we needed an inspection. The provider was on time (a little early actually) and polite. He listened to our problem and inspected the property. Seems like the leak is not in an area they can fix (probably our irrigation system) but the provider gave us details on what to look for and reassurance that our pressurized system is not leaking. I have seen several other reviews state that the wait time was very long, but we got an appointment within a week of our phone call.

I had to wait a while to get an appointment but once the work was begun it went really well. Workers were clean in and around the house, efficient, friendly and clearly knew what they were doing. Would definitely use them again.

So far the leak seems to be fixed but we paid dearly for it. It cost $500 just to diagnose where the leak was. They were “so busy” it took over 1 1/2 months to come out and fix it. Fixed first leak, leak tested and fixed another leak right next to the first leak for an additional charge the next visit. Total for the fix was $2,600 plus the $500 to “diagnose” which was not deducted from the cost of repair. Total in all cost a whopping $3,100. I called and asked for owner to call me back and discuss charges last week. Still no return call this week. We will not use them again because frankly we can’t afford them. I don’t mind paying for a repair but a company should not try and make all their profit off one individual. I will not refer or recommend this company to anyone. It would have been in their best interest to communicate with me.

Leak isolated to outside the house. Due to leak being under the driveway had to reroute the main water line from the meter to the house. Used someone else for the re-routing.

We are building a house and the plumbing subcontractor is the most unprofessional & incompetent plumber I have ever dealt with! To make matters worse, our builder will not supervise him or inspect his work despite having been told of each of the plumber's many screw-ups. As we are nearing the end of the construction (we're in our 14th month of construction after breaking ground; 3 1/2 months past the contracted completion date), my husband and I are concerned about what problems there may be that I didn't find. We contacted a home inspector - we will be having a thorough inspection prior to the final walk through - and he recommended American Leak Detection. I called them yesterday morning and explained my situation. They set an appointment for the same day at 1 pm! James was on time and so very nice. He spent quite a bit of time looking around and agreed that the plumbing fixtures installations were unworkmanlike and needed to be fixed. When I asked him about doing a pressure test James was very frank and told me that would only find leaks in the slab and not any in of the walls. He told me there are other tests that could be done but it would be very expensive and not worth it at this time. When I told him the builder suggested bringing in another plumber to finish the job but that it would be twice as much, James was appalled. He suggested that we should retain an attorney to put pressure on the builder to finish and to make sure that the builder makes all repairs at his expense. I really appreciated James' honesty and integrity! The icing on the cake was when I asked for the bill, he refused to charge me for the call!! I will definitely be using American Leak Detection in the future and will recommend them to our friends!

They located the leak. They recommended that I go with a sprinkler company because they would be cheaper than they would to fix it. On price, I don't have anything to compare with. I would use them again if need be. They were upfront about having someone else do the work. It was just one person that came out. It took him about an hour and a half or two hours. They had to dig a hole to find the leak. I told him to leave it as it was so the other company could find it easily.

Very well. Leak detection/repairs is expensive work so you never feel good about the price, but I won't way the price wasn't fair once we got into the work finding and repairing three leaks under a brick patio with a 5-6" concrete slab underneath the brick. Compound that with a tangle of roots from large trees causing the leaks and interfering with the repairs. I will say I've had this kind of work done by others before with less than a satisfactory experience. American Leak Detection sent their technician Robert to find and repair our leaks. He was excellent...knowledgeable, thorough, on time, responsive to our questions and consistently concerned about "doing it right" with both the care of our property and his repairs through the course of nearly four days of finding multiple leaks and dealing with difficult repair conditions.

American Leak Detection diagnosed and identified site of leak on day 1. Scheduled repair on subsequent first available appointment. Work involved excavating a very small portion of the front yard. Site was clean after repair with minimal disruption to yard. Dig site was unidentifiable a few months after repair. System was pressure and leak tested after the repair to insure no issues and no additional leaks. Throughout repair process was photographed by technician and sent to me via SMS. Excellent service and experience throughout!!

Leak Professionals $390 thorough job vs American Leak Detection $460 half *** job. You be the judge. So I lived with the leak until my neighbor started complaining about extra water in his yard so I called Leak Professionals and they came February 2016. They were so much more thorough than American Leak Detection and checked my skimmers which were good (so my fix worked), all my lines which were good and then dived into the pool, checked main & spa drains which were good but did find 2 small leaks, one at cleaner port and and another in the seat of my spa where the pebble tech had lost coverage. He recommended I fix with epoxy which I did and now NO LEAKS, NO WATER LOSS. Finally, my problem was solved.

First I must apologize, this review should have been written a month ago. I remembered this time to write it because I had to have them come out again. I had a busted hot water line under the foundation. American Leak Detection sent out Justin to fix the line which he originally was thought to be easy enough to fix by rerouting the hot water line using PEX. Unfortunately it wasn't that simple. It was then when just realized the leak was under the foundation. Justin got on the phone with his company to see if he could get a crew out the next day to dig under the foundation, because I was going out of town in 2 days. The next day a crew of guys showed to dig under the foundation. These guys were FABULOUS. They worked diligently and quickly to dig this 6 ft. deep and roughly 6 ft. under the foundation to expose the leaking pipe. The next day Justin came out found the leak repaired and repaired it. Justin is an easy going guy, who's personable and customer oriented. He assured me that this problem would be taken care of prior to me leaving town and it was. The reason I had to call them again is because I thought there was another leak in the same spot. It turned out that I had a leaky tub faucet that was dripping hot water causing the hot water to continuously run. Justin came out repaired the faucet and ran a test on the lines just to make sure there was no leak. When the job was completed I was fortunate enough to get the same crew of guys to come back and back fill the whole. Once again AWESOME! They were quick clean. They tidied up the backyard, cleaned the patio, and spread the excess dirt evenly in the grass where I had low spots. I would definitely recommend this company.

From 2014 to 2015 American Leak Detection came to our house three times to detect a leak in our pool. The first time, we explained that the pool was losing 1"-4" of water a week, and they hassled us about even needing an appointment. They told us to do our own water loss test and gave us the run around saying that pools lose water through evaporation and for other reasons. We insisted on an appointment, they charged us their usual fee to "diagnose" the leak, walked around the pool, looked at the equipment, and said that they didn't think that we had a leak. And in the meantime, we were still adding 4"-6" of water to the pool every three days or so. That's definitely more than simple evaporation as they suggested. A friend in the pool business, who had referred American Leak Detection in the first place, asked us if they'd used sonar detection and some other methods that he knew should have been used. Nope. They had not, even though we'd paid their standard detection fee.
Had them back at the beginning of pool season 2015 since the pool leaking water at a faster rate than their previous visit. My husband called multiple times before someone even returned his call, but we went back to them because of all the good grades here on Angie's List and because there really aren't many leak detection specialists out there to choose from. After hearing back from them several phone calls later, we had them out again, paid another detection fee, and were told that we had a large crack that had been previously filled. (I'm assuming by the previous homeowners who had rehabbed to pool prior to our purchasing the home, but not by us.) They told us that they would need to drain the pool and refill the crack. So, another detection fee, several hundred dollars for repair, and the cost of refilling the pool (a huge pool with diving depth on one end), we're still leaking 4"-6" of water a week.
Bottom line, they came out twice. We paid their fee. They did work. Our pool still leaks.

"American Leak Detection of Dallas wishes to apologize to [Member Name Removed] for her experience regarding the detection and repairs for the swimming pool in question. Leak detection, although beneficial to many water conservation and property maintenance situations, is not always an exact science. American Leak Detection has serviced the [Member Name Removed] residence pool three times since September of 2013. Some cases, such as this, require regular maintenance due to shifting ground or settling concrete within the structure. The detailed job records of this property indicate the need of a much more extensive level of repair. American Leak Detection seeks to provide the highest level of customer service in the industry. We have attempted to contact Mrs. [Member Name Removed] several times to rectify this situation, but have had no success. We would be happy to continue the ongoing evaluation of the pool and because of American Leak Detection's industry leading warranty and guarantee, it would result in no additional cost to Ms. [Member Name Removed] if the repair work performed has failed."
