Al’s installed a new blower, evaporator and furnace in our attic back in March. They also redid some ductwork and added a return. Our unit had stopped blowing cool air, and we had poor airflow downstairs. The technician who came for the service call, Dave, diagnosed the problem and was awesome. He’s thorough, knowledgeable and a perfectionist. He installed an entire new system in our attic in one day. The price was a little higher than another quote we received, but I felt more comfortable using Al’s given that Dave had recognized problems with the ductwork and lack of sufficient returns and included this in his cost, whereas the other company had not. So the system was installed and seems to be working great. However, i have now scheduled 2 separate service calls for them to provide the follow up inspection to ensure everything is working as anticipated. They suggested this upon installation. Not only have they been no-shows for both appointments, which has caused me to waste 2 of my days off from work, but they haven’t even had the courtesy to call. To make matters worse, they use a call service to take their calls, so you can’t reach them and they haven’t bothered to return any of my calls. So at this point, I’m not sure they’d even bother honor the warranty if something went wrong. I’m glad I’ve waited to write my review until now. To sum it up, Al’s is there when they stand to make a quick buck, but can’t be found when it comes to following up on their service obligations. If they decide to contact me and actually show up for the service call, I’ll update my review. But I won’t change the substance of it.

After many years of loyalty to Al's we determined they have been pretty much ripping us off. They overprice equipment, sometimes sell junk when it's all they have available, their technicians often don't have a clue, they can't solve problems, they tell me gear is out of warranty when it's not and sell me replacement equipment, they switch brands and tell me the brand they sold me last year is crap. Most recently, they told me the Rheem unit they sold me 5 years ago that we have been having trouble with and had already spent $2,000 in labor repairing was out of warranty and they sold me a new outside unit for about $3,000. Then the unit stopped cooling again. We called somebody else and they came out and said both our inside and outside units had been under warranty, showed me the date on the unit and got Rheem to replace the coil for free. Parts and labor $700. Al's would have fleeced me for $8,000 - $10,000 when it all could have been replaced under warranty for $1500 in labor.

Had a disappointing experience.
I was having doubts on these guys and asked for an invoice for the repairs they were doing. After three days of nagging, they sent out an invoice which had an additional line item (~$495 for locating the leak, which was never done), that we were disputing for a while. We had financed this project owing to the high cost. The day the Well's Fargo financing statement arrives, we notice that there was a $300 in excess compared to the invoice, posted to the account.
Amanda, the one who generally responds to your call, was not very helpful in resolving this. I demanded to speak with the manager, Scott Cotham. Upon asking him about the $795 discrepancy, he said he will work on resolving this and get back to me the next morning. The next afternoon, they simply sent out a new invoice with new rates that made up for the 795 difference, i.e. they simply increased their price! How can their price change overnight, especially when they charge by the book?
To be clear, the locate leak service was removed from the invoice and the rates for the other services (Access/Permit/Water Task+Egress back-fill) was increased. They stated that the older invoice had wrong pricing due to a computer input error. The labor price did not change, which means the management is pocketing the money.
In the meanwhile, I would like to let everybody know that this is a clear indication of a complete lack of integrity and professionalism. In my opinion, this deems them unfit to provide any professional service. An unfair service is still a bad service... I am still hoping that there is someone out there at Al's with some integrity and professionalism to resolve this issue in a fair manner.

Al's installed a new A/C unit in July of 2014, since that time the unit has gone out 4 times.  Each time we have to wait with out A/C while they order parts.  Last week the compressor went out.  The tech said they would replace all the parts associated with the compressor.  But unknown to us, the manager told them only to replace the compressor.   Well 4 days later a value went out and now we have to wait three day for them to order the part.  I had use Al's for plumbing and A/C for years but will never use them again.

They are a big outfit down here and I use them for air conditioning and I just used them for plumbing. They are a little bit higher than other people, but their quality of work is so good I don't want to leave them.

Its more like a chain so they have different locations. They were there within 2-3 hours of my getting in touch with them. Those were just in and out things that they took care of.

I called because I got a cute ad in my Facebook feed.  I should know better.
My mother-in-law wants a utility sink installed in the laundry room.  I do what I'm told.  She bought the sink and such, but we need a professional to install it.  I called Al's and scheduled an appointment.  I then called mom to make sure the time would be OK with her.  She wasn't home and I couldn't get her on the phone so I called Al's again and cancelled the appointment.  I said I would call again when I could confirm a time with mom.
So, the guy showed up anyway.  The good news was that mom was home.  The bad news is that the estimate was for $2,200.00.  I passed on that opportunity.  I was charged $49.00 for the visit.  Remember, this was an appointment I had called to cancel.  I had mom pay the $49.00 and I consider it money well spent.  I learned a valuable lesson.  If you can afford to pay Mark Zuckerburg (Facebook) to put your ad in my news feed, you probably need to charge more for your service.
Now, to be fair the Al's Plumbing.  The young man was very nice to mom, and he was nice to me on the phone when we discussed the project.  I have no doubt that he would have done a fine job.

Installer was professional, on time, and very nice. It only took him 30 minutes to install faucet. However, I was charged $481, and I had already purchased the faucet. I called later to complain to the company, which did no good. I will not use them again and would not recommend them.

I called Als because I found a split in the copper pipe that our hose is attached to in front of the house. Even though the pipe was wrapped and the water was turned off during the winter the piipe froze and split.
I wasn't home when they showed up but my sister was and didn't question the work they did or what they charged. The pipe was above ground, easy access and the pipe was less than1 1/2 ft. long.
I f I had been home I wouldn't have allowed the work to be done because $444 is ridulous and highway robbery. I will never use them again nor will I ever recommend them.

I got a call ahead of time to let me know the technicians were on their way, and they arrived right on time. They diagnosed the problem immediately, were able to explain it to me clearly, and began their repairs with no delay. I'll definitely be calling Al's again!

They do a good job, I've use them for plumbing and heating/air. They are a little pricey, but they do good work. They're reputable, if there is any mistake or problem, they will come out and fix it with out any trouble. I would recommend them.

They were really bad. They overcharge you, way overcharge you. They lie to you. They told me my leak was in the slab and it wasn't and they charged me $1,000.00 just to come out to find the leak but they never found the leak. Actually, it was 890 something. I reported them to the state board of plumbers and told them what happened and the owner finally gave all my money back. It was a water leak and we slammed it on the insurance and as soon as he found out I have $1,000.00 deductible, he told me, "We'll have to reroute all your plumbing up in the attic and that will be $11,000.00." And I said, "What? Everywhere because of one leak in the kitchen?" and he said yes. To make long story short, when I didn't go with them, they got really mad and the lady there said, "Well, I want my money now and I'm going to have somebody go pick up your check right now" when I told them that we're getting somebody else and was really rude, really awful. They kept changing things for me. I reported them and she sent me a really ugly letter saying she's going to report me to the attorney general's office. Anyway, that's part of what I turned in the complaint. Then the owner had to write a letter explaining everything but he didn't include everything but he admitted he's sorry and all that stuff and gave me all my money back. But then, the insurance company guy called me and said, "How was that with Al's Plumbing?" I told them I got my money back finally at least and they didn't report me to the attorney general for nonpayment and a lien on my house. And he said, "Well, I have another case involving that plumbing company, same company in the state of Texas." And he said that they're charging way over the amount of what the call should cost. They were awful. They didn't even know the leak wasn't on the slab, it was in the kitchen going down. They were here for a couple of hours trying to find the leak and told me it was on the slab but they were really fast in coming out. They were here real fast when they smelled the money. I will absolutely not use them again in the future.

Consulted Angie's list because Al's Plumbing (and heating and air conditioning) in Plano had given me an estimate of $857 to fix a flapper on a toilet ($632.50) and to take one faucet apart ($225.00) to see if it was even possible to fix it. (emphasizing that it and quot;mightand quot; require additional expense if that wasn't enough to fix it. Also, if they could fix it, it would be an additional $225 for the other faucet, bringing the total up to $1082.00!!!!)

I sent them on their way and started researching on Angie's list. I went with Force Home Services and scheduled an appointment for today. Their plumber, Guy, just left and guess how much it cost? By going through and using the coupon on Angie's list, it cost me a grand total of $139! AND, he fixed BOTH master bath faucets, not just one!!!! (Flapper cost $28.00+$111.00 Angie's List coupon for 2 hours labor.)

I AM A HAPPY CAMPER! (And, I'm trying to figure out other ways to spread the word about Al's Plumbing RIPOFF! $139 Vs. $1082.00....you do the math!!!!!)

My original estimate was $35,500 but Al's lowered the price to $30,000 to meet my financial limitations. They came the very next morning (with a box of donuts!) to begin work. They were extremely polite, prompt and helpful. The work was at my parents' home, and they are elderly folks, and everyone with Al's was focused on caring for them and explaining everything carefully. They wouldn't even let my Mom carry a patio chair cushion out when it was time to replace the furniture. I can't say enough good things about these wonderful people. Yes, their original price was high. I think you usually get what you pay for. But they were willing to lower their price for me, and the service I received was still top-notch.

We ended up with a clogged drain Sunday night, which left us with no toilet, shower or sink - ouch! Checked online for a plumber and saw a $50 off coupon for Al's Plumbing, so we called and had them come out on Monday (non-emergency). They charged us $372.22 to snake a drain 15 feet - OUCH! Shame on us for not getting multiple quotes before setting an appointment (hard to remember when you have no toilet!), but shame on them for charging TRIPLE what other plumbers are charging for the same service. After we realized what a simple repair was needed, we called to get quotes from some other local plumbers and were told this type of cleanout would normally be $100-$150. When we called Al's Plumbing to complain about the gross overchargin, their response was, and quot;you agreed to the estimate before the work was done.and quot; Of course that's true, but a refusal of this ridiculous charge would've cost us $89.95 for a and quot;trip chargeand quot; and made any other repair more expensive. Long story short, don't use Al's Plumbing and A/C if you want a fair price in DFW.

He told us that we had a clog coming from the front and quot;clean outand quot; to the main sewer line in front of our house. They were finished in about 30 to 45 minutes. They were curteous and fast. They left no mess and did not hurt any of our shrubs. We will call them again if needed.

Just finished building a new house and called Al's to inspect both the Plumbing and AC systems before we closed. The plumber (Patrick) did a great job of educating us about our new tankless water heater. Also told us how to keep our garbage disposal and drain in good condition to avoid any problems. The AC tech (John M) looked at our entire system and told us that we might have hot spot in the house because we needed an additional return air duct. Explained about how the house was designed and why the issue might occur. He took the time to explain every area of the system. Also told us that we had a good system except for that return air duct issue. Gave us an option on how to fix it eventually if we couldn't get the builder to fix it (total cost under $5000 - OMG) .My husband and I went back to the builder and requested that they fix the issue. They refused but we got it documented so if there are any issues, we can have them take care of it. Overall, the tech did a good job but they're solution was expensive. Both guys were direct and to the point - no BS. It was nice that they didn't patronize me like some many other guys have in the past. I'm 1 of 2 girls in my family so I was raised to know how to fix minor things around the house.

We spent way too much. I think they charge too much and it was kind of difficult getting the unit up and to the attic, I think they could have done a less damaging job. I believe they came when they said they would come.

Al's plumbing and ndash; BEWARE, do not use them. Everything about my experience is what you don't want from a service company. When they diagnosed a hidden slab leak, I took their word for it and paid what they told me it would cost approx $2400. But I learned they charged me 6-to-8 times what they should've when the repair turned out to be just a pipe with a hole. After proving through several competing quotes and sending them threatening letters, months later Al's refunded half of what I paid. I don't like the way they do business, and caution everyone to stay away.

He's local. I used them earlier in the year to replace a hot water heater. They went above and beyond. They ran a drainage line that they didn't have to run. They were wonderful. There are cheaper people out there but I go for the quality. I would absolutely use them again.
