A-1 GRASS SAND & STONE

I purchased 5 flats of Palmetto grass on 18 June 2016 from A-1 Grass Company. I found the workers at A-1 helpful when I questions on care of the grass. The installer they "recommended" was not good and I appreciated the information they gave me as I was having issues with the grass from the beginning. I stopped by to talk to them at least three times to make sure I was doing the right thing in caring for the grass to give it the best chance to take and thrive. I had showed them pictures of parts of the grass that were having issues from the first week and was told it was in shock and to "give it time". When I returned later to let them know the results (they are still recommending this same grass installed) and having another professional landscaper give me his analysis of what had happened, I wanted to share my factual experiences and recommend they "rethink" recommending this person. This landscaper pointed out that at the time I got my grass, they had a lot of rain causing some of the grass growing fields to go under water, and they found some of the grass they got did not make it. This applied to me as A-1 grass delayed delivery of my grass telling me that their grass field was "under water". I also wanted to talk about options for replacing the part of my yard that did not make it. Again I found the worker there very accommodating, but when things changed when a manager joined the conversation. He was very confrontational and non-helpful and more pointing blame at me without understanding the situation. He claimed he could tell the reason for the grass issue if he looked at the grass, but refused to come out and look at my yard, even though I live 5 minutes away. I expected more from a company that have been in business so long. I recognized that they sell grass, but if they recommend another company for installs, this reflects on them. So if you want to buy grass - great - but if you want a company that backs their stuff - think twice.

Cash and carry--bought sod from them and took home in own vehicle. They often have the sod we need, at a fair price.

They came and dumped it off. They provide good quality sod at good prices. They are a great landscaping company, and I would recommend them. My experience with them was very good. I will be using them again in the future.
