It went extremely well. They used laser surgery and gave him an injection of pain medication. When we picked up Bear you'd never have known he'd just been through surgery. Just got a follow-up call this morning from Valley Animal Hospital asking how he was doing.

During the call I asked about an other concern with our second dog, Truly. They listened and graciously gave some good useable advice for him as well.

Dr. McManus is excellent with birds. Our parrot loves him! He seems to be a truly caring vet - he even calls us at home to check up on the bird when he is sick.

They are good with the pets. They can handle them. They try to provide top-of-the-line care. They do a good job on things. It seems like every time I go in there and then they tell me how much it is and it is about twice as much as I am expecting. He was reasonable about things. He was also the kind of person who would say you can do this or you can do this or you can do this. He was a real down to earth type of person and every once in a while I get the impression they are pushing stuff just to bring in the bucks rather than you know it may be good for the animal, but probably it does not really justify the expense. It may be that they are used to dealing with a lot of people and it does not matter whether it works well or not, but they try everything. I tried to be fairly rationale about it and if it is not really going to do some good, then why the money and the time. That is my only gripe with them, otherwise they do a good job. The dogs have stayed there quite a bit for boarding and they seemed to be just fine going there, so they are doing something right.

The hospital is very friendly and caring.
