"Good Morning [Member name removed], Thank you for taking the time to write your feedback in regards to your experience with Ranchers. I wanted to inform you that the irrigation pipe that was damaged was not broken intentionally and given the tight room of where the new fence was installed, it was not possible to determine that it was a pipe that was broken. When the issue arose, we assumed it was a head since there was head in such area. I personally brought this matter to [Member name removed] attention so it could be relayed to your neighbor. Since we cannot see what is underground, our contract, for example the one you and I agreed to, states the following "Ranchers Landscaping is not responsible for underground lines, cables, or pipes but will call utilities to mark underground utilities." Additionally, I'm saddened that your overall experience was unpleasant being that we worked with you on this to the point that we provided you with a large discount. Once again, thank you for your feedback. We will use your feedback to improve our service with all future clients."
Professional from start to finish. Best price, too. Our neighbor decided to use them also. I could not be more pleased.
The owner of the company, Luis Alvarez, came by to do the estimate personally the same day I called him and was very professional and clear about costs, materials, construction methods and time frame. It's the little things that can win you over, the estimate was printed on nice paper, laid out well, with costs clearly identified in a manner easily understood. Two of the other contractors gave me verbal bids which I shouldn't have to point out is a HUGE red flag. The third of the four gave me an almost illegible chicken scratch mess on aging carbon paper. The last of these, Mr. Chicken scratch was also the highest bid by far, insisting that pressure treated pine was "fine for TX", also thinking that galvanized posts were "overkill". Well, Luis felt a better fence was screwed 3/4 cedar, with cedar cross bars, and steel posting.
As they say, you don't gotta buy it, cause this s*** sells itself.
I actually got the estimate back in August but didn't act on it until last week for a variety of reasons, but when I called him he was able to get started in roughly 10 days after my phone call with him and a signed estimated emailed back. There were some hiccups in scheduling, but Luis communicated well and the team that did come was very hardworking and cleaned up well after the job. It should be noted that he assured me the posts would be sunk 2' in the ground which i was a bit skeptical about as where I am in Cedar Park soil is rare; rock, then more rock, followed by rock, with a healthy dose of solid limestone is generally what one has in the backyard. No worries, they whipped out the airtools and in short time had truly jackhammered to a depth of two feet everywhere. Very impressive, these posts could stop a small aircraft.
The following day, the crew was on site at 9am banging it out like they had a hit on them. The owner showed up a bit later to help with finish work and final construction and they were done by 2pm leaving a clean worksite. The fenceline is laser straight and they were able to perfectly recreate the odd property lines on both sides of the house. They aligned the fence off the ground and maintained the line very well. The gates on both sides are perfect with nice hardware and pinky finger swing. The gate on the right side of the house had been so hard to open I pretty much stopped using it about 2 years ago, so this is refreshing, it's kinda like having a new house. The little jumps on the property line on both side of the house were not just open gaps, they took the time to screw bits of the cedar 2x4s on 90s top and bottom and picket the area as well. The overall attention to detail is excellent.
As I have made clear, the construction quality is very good, but the overall look is terrific. The fence is gorgeous. Simple as that. I have recommended them to all my friends on Facebag as well as my own mother who needs about 110ft replaced on one side of her house. The price might seem high to some, you might be cruising Homedepot or Lowes thinking this is a rip, but it's apples and oranges. You get what you pay for. You want Homedepot pressure treated crappola that will look like 3.2 metric tonnes of cat barf (these are scientific terms) in the space of 3 years, knock yourself out. You want the real deal, call Luis.
As Benjamin Franklin's personal choreoanimator was known to say, "The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten"
