Excellent experience from beginning to end. Jay Phipps was friendly and thoroughly professional. He was exactly on time for the appointment (called ahead to say he was on the way), explained everything clearly, was finished ahead of the estimated time, cleaned up the work area nicely, and walked us through the new controls. You could not have asked for a smoother, more effective service experience. The new system works well and we are quite pleased.

Brandon with Central Security replaced a door sensor and suggested that we highly consider going to a cellular security system.  With his explanation and information as to how this would keep our system working through internet disruption and even power failures, we were sold to get in on the new system.  He explained that Benee would call to schedule a follow up appointment for the next week.  Benee was in touch and got us on their books for 2 days later!  What a blessing to have such a responsive team who see the issues and responds so quickly.  Eric was sent out to change out our system and did a very quick and effective job.  Nothing changed with the way that our system works besides we are guaranteed more complete coverage.  What a peace of mind!  Grateful to them and their 24/7 support and assistance.

It went very poorly. First, the wireless monitoring module was not programmed properly, which prompted a second call-back for Jay Phipps to correct this issue. More importantly, Jay could not program the system to report alarm conditions properly, which is critical and the reason I have a security system. On his call today to correct some further issues with my system, Jay could not get the system programmed. He had to make at least two (2) calls to the security system manufacture's tech support line to do simple programming functions. He became frustrated and told me: "I'm turning this account over to Brandon." - the owner of Central Security and he left my home. Jay had the system in test mode during his failed attempts at programming my security system. When I asked him if the system was out of test mode, so at least some of my security system would function and report, he told me: "Call the central (monitoring) station and tell them to take it out of test." Normally, this is the technician's responsibility. He also said he did not have time to deal with me and instructed me to contact Brandon - Central Security's owner. I'm sitting in my home office writing this review when I should be out at meetings because I do not know if my security system is working properly. Also, normally security company folks do not watch or use your master alarm code, but Jay watched me enter my code and used it to work with my system. This a major bad from a provider that is supposed to protect my home, family, and property. When I called Central Security's main office, the lady was very helpful and she told me that Brandon Adams, the owner, was out on calls, but he would contact me today. Bottom line: Central Security may be a great company, but apparently from what I understand each office is independently owned and operated. So you may want to go with Central Security, but if you do chose them as your provider, do NOT use Jay Phipps to handle your account. This is the worst experience I've ever had with a security company!
ACTUALLY I WAS WRONG. IT GETS WORSE! Brandon Adams, the owner of Central Security came out today to try to program my security system. Here are some highlights of that service call, by Brandon, in my home:
-Brandon said the system could do the functions I requested, by programming it, but he refused to do the system programming. Stating that this is not what we do for our customers. Currently some of the system function appear not to be working properly since Brandon's alleged "service call."
-Brandon said: "YOU KNOW, WE RECORD EVERY WORD YOU SAY - EVERY PHONE CALL, EVERY E-MAIL, ETC." Which is kinda' frightening since they never informed me of this fact and I value my personal privacy.
- Brandon then quizzed me about where I work and how I make my living, which is a major violation of my privacy.
-Brandon told me: " WE WILL NOT BE COMING BACK TO SERVICE YOUR SYSTEM ANY LONGER! (Even though their service contract clearly states this is included in the monthly service/monitoring fee.) He offered to waive the 90 day cancellation part of the contract, but he refused to refund the first and last months service/monitoring fee - even though they have provided services for less than a month!
- FINALLY, AND MOST INSULTING, SINCE IT WAS SAID TO ME BY BRANDON ADAMS, THE OWNER OF CENTRAL SECURITY, IN MY HOME. Brandon said that the whole situation was "Weird" and INSINUATED AND ALMOST DOWNRIGHT STATED THAT I WAS A WEIRD PERSON, j ust because he would not program the system properly!
  -I'm a well respected member of my community. I'm a successful small business owner. I'm a former systems manager for two Fortune 100 companies. My friends, family, and neighbors would respectfully disagree with Brandon's assessment!
A WARNING TO ALL ANGIE'S LIST MEMBERS WHO WANT A SECURITY SYSTEM THAT IS PROFESSIONALLY PROGRAMMED AND MONITORED, WHO VALUE THEIR PERSONAL PRIVACY, AND WHO HAVE ANY SELF-RESPECT / DIGNITY AND EXPECT THE SAME FROM A SECURITY SERVICE PROVIDER: STAY AWAY FROM CENTRAL SECURITY!

Central Security cancelled my monitoring and system services after reading my negative review on-line. (They left a voicemail, stating this which is included in this review as a mp3 attachment below so you can hear the owner of Central Security, Brandon Adams say he is terminating services because of my negative on-line review.) They did this late in the evening with only a voicemail notice without giving me any time to respond. Suddenly, my security system started beeping and showing all sorts of program codes in the display. I had to disconnect the power to stop it, so now I have no working security system. The owner states he has given me a full refund, but I'm yet to see it.
UPDATE: Central Security did issue me a full refund today 04/07/14, thanks in-part to my on-line review, but I was without a monitored security system for seven (7) full days due to Central Security abruptly canceling my services due to my negative on-line review. As a footnote, regarding Central Security's response to my review about not being able to make me happy and not being able meet my needs, in spite of the fact that they allegedly used many resources. I had a new security company come out today and they got my system fully functioning to my complete satisfaction - meeting my needs and making me happy: It took one skilled technician, who knew what he was doing, with this new security company, just two (2) hours to get my security system fully functioning and I'm very pleased and happy with the high-quality work done by my new security system provider. I'm glad to be rid of Central Security and am delighted with my new security system company.

Central Security is a locally owned company who strives to make our customer's happy. Central Security spent over 6 hours with Jim H., and sent out 2 different master technicians on 3 different occasions to Jim H's home. It was not possible for Central Security to meet the needs of Jim H."

Came out and put in pre-wiring while house was being built. Upon completion of house he came out to set up the entry points. We went with a cellular unit and have a reasonable monthly charge. And we have the ability to upgrade in the future to add things like medical alerts. Very pleased with the whole process.

Initially wanted the 19.99 monitoring service using the existing home security equipment and for the panel to be reset and reprogrammed. The tech, was onetime and very knowledgable about the service and existing and new equipment. He didn't try to up sell equipment just answered my questions. I ended up purchasing additional equipment and the 29.99 monitor service. I am extremely happy with the service and purchase.

We wanted to have our security system hooked up and monitored.  After looking on Angie's List coupons and reviews, we found Central Security offered excellent service at a very reasonable cost.  Unlike some of the more well-known names, they have an inexpensive monitoring cost and no long-term contract commitments.  Their Texas Department of Public Safety license is prominently displayed on their website.  TDPS told me this is a required permit and each employee goes through a background check.  I also checked them out on the Better Business Bureau website.  The owner, Brandon, did the installation.  He had to replace some of the electronics that existed in the house and even gave us credit for one of the items he replaced.  I found him to be very professional and knowledgeable about the systems.  After the installation, he tested the system.  He showed us how the system works and who to contact for monitoring or repairs.  I was very pleased that this was not a high pressure experience.

He came to assess our existing security system. There was no pressure to make major changes though he did make some useful suggestions. The installation was easy - he came when scheduled, and all was done as agreed. The price was reasonable - a bit cheaper than competitors.

"Correspondence Copied From Email of Home Owner and Brandon with Central Security Member – Home Owner. Brandon some missing things from thursday install since my wife could not find the quote paper. 1. I wanted the cellular backup in case wires are cut/internet goes down 2. Another motion detector added to front room/entry 3. The ac/heat device (remote access ability via alarm wireless) which I understand you need to order and bring by to house at somepoint(we install) 4. If you ever get video that can intergrate into alarm system let me know. I would like cameras for outside front and back. Lots of car break in's lately. Otherwise working well. I am assuming it is not on test mode? Thanks again Member, Brandon - Central Security. You will need to call and set another appointment with office 512-610-2698, I will have to charge you $128 the cell back up, the monthly price will increase to $34.99 monthly, the zigbee AC/Heat control is $130, the additional motion will cost $35 and the contract for service will need to be redone. The office is going to want an additional trip charge of $30.00. I wish you at home when the quote was being done or during the installation, or at least informed your wife of what you wanted prior to me doing the install, this is alot of additional work and me having to redo what should be done already, Respectfully submitted, Member – Home Owner it was all on the quote that was HAND written on paper. i figured YOU would have a copy also.noboby EVER confirmed exactly what you were going to do OR exactly what we wanted. I will try to find the quote page but it had stuff all over page. We wanted the motion detector in front room which my wife knew about, was recommended, I talked to you about on phone, and was on quote. The ac/heat control she said you did not have with you but could order and bring by at later date? She even texted me when you were there that we wanted it. The AC/Heater control was also on quote but we can just order it ourselves since we install it anyways(no big deal). I am truely sorry if this is an inconvenience. If it is too much to ask maybe we should just part ways and we can use different service to finish installation of other components. Thanks Brandon – Central Security You have a motion and one motion is recommended, the motion you have is mounted upside down, I assume because of your dog. Do you want the other motion mounted upside down as well? Again, it is not a problem to add the equipment you wanted and I have no problem with doing the work but you will need to set up a service call to have the motion and cell back up added on. I never said that this was too much or that I would not do the work, please set appointment with office, 512-610-2698, for this to be finished up as you desire. Let me start by saying what exceptional customer service provided by Armando in Houston!  He was knowledgeable, confident, with a lot of integrity.   Not only did he show up on time but also sent a txt on his ETA.  I had an older system that had been offline for a while.  A quick survey and Armando was off trouble shooting and bring my system back online.  I guarantee you; if it was anyone else they’d be selling me a whole new system.  But this gentlemen, reconfigured, installed a new power line, new battery back, tested the system, walked me through a brief training and $115 later I was another happy customer.   I will definitely be giving Central Security  my monitoring service just because I valued the exceptional service provided by Armando.     Oh one last point  -- talk about going beyond the call of duty -- Armando without me asking surveyed  at my front door and replaced the 2 inch screws on the strike plate with 6 inch heavy duty screws thus reinforcing my front door.  I highly recommend  Central Security for any and all your security needs… They are  extremely knowledgeable on  commercial and residential systems.
