"Triple M Gates was purchased from the previous owner in October 2016. As you can see from the reviews posted after that date it is not the same company. New employees, new management and a focus on customer service. As the new owner of Triple M Gates it saddens me to hear you had such a terrible experience. My team and I strive to provide the highest level of customer service at all times. I would like the opportunity to work with you in the future and earn your business."

Among other issues, the gate "catches" on the edge of the concrete as it tries to close and has to be helped over the driveway. I brought this to the attention of the home builder and his contractor a few days after we moved in. They referred me to Felix. When I called Felix, I asked him to come out and look at the gate and he said he would, but never did--at least that I knew of.
A week later, with the problem continuing, I called him again and explained the problem, and he told me the post would need to be resunk--at a cost of $850! I was appalled at this response and asked him if his work came with a warranty and he mumbled something incoherently and never answered the question. I once again asked him to come out and look at the gate and he never responded. I asked the contractor to reach out to him and did not hear back from him, either.
In addition to the shoddy post installation, the adjustment bars are rusted and poorly aligned. The welds look like something a high-schooler would perform in shop class. Basically the gate has been measured incorrectly, installed poorly, and looks very low-rent for the house. I will be hiring someone else to come fix the gate, but just wanted to share my experience, as poor/unresponsive customer service should be noted for all to see when they are considering who to use for this type of work.
Facts: I requested a service call and technician arrived on schedule. He evaluated the non-working gate opener, the battery that runs it, and the charger that keeps the battery up. He concluded that the problem was a dead battery. He offered to sell me a new battery that he said was better than the previous version and had a 1 year warranty. I agreed to his offer.
I paid him $85 for the service call and $150 for the battery, which I knew was very high but I needed the gate working in a hurry and was grateful that he had come out on short notice.
The next week I came home in the late afternoon and my gate had stopped working again. I needed the gate to work again that evening, so I removed the new battery and the old battery charger myself and took them over to the Batteries Etc shop in Meyerland. They told me the battery was permanently dead and that it was ok but not the best type of battery for this application for two reasons: 1) it is designed for starting riding mowers, so to provide short, quick current vs the longer, steady current needed to slowly open/close a gate. 2) If the battery ever ran down, it was permanently dead (as was the case with my new, dead battery). The Batteries Etc shop also said my charger was bad, which is probably why the battery died.
For ~$90 I got a new, larger, better-suited battery and new charger. This battery also has a 1 year warranty, the charger 5 years.
I called Triple M and told the owner what had happened. I said I would like a refund for the battery. He said that wasn't possible. I said I would like him to honor the warranty on the battery (at least I could have a good battery to sell or give to my dad, who has an electric start mower). He said that since my charger had "killed" the battery, he could not provide any warranty for the battery. I mentioned that he had evaluated the system and said the charger was fine during his recent, $85 service call. He said that was true, but his position was that the charger just happened to die shortly after he checked it out. He also said that he stood behind his battery selection, that the Batteries Etc people didn't know what they were talking about and that the type of battery he sold me was the best type and recommended for this application (despite the fact that it was not what came with the original system and despite the fact that it will (and did) die without warning if ever allowed to discharge below a certain level).
My conclusion is that Triple M is not a good choice for servicing your gate opener. My belief is that their business plan does not include long-term, repeat customers. I will share my story with my neighbors so that they can make informed choices about their service providers.
