The Book Man

I sent the book to The Book Man, he repaired it and returned it within a few weeks. Tim included pieces of the old binding which had been removed. Very thorough.

All of my pages are restored. But I was not told ahead of time that my Bible cover would be burned and stiff.

I was able to reach "The Book Man" in one phone call. The book was repaired in one week!

I had him do restoration of three family heirloom books. All were in various state of deterioration and very fragile. 
One was a German bible dating from 1870 that had the front and back covers as well as multiple pages detached. The covers and pages had handwritten dates and names of three generations of family. The second was a small bible given to my great-great grandmother on her baptism in 1862 that had handwritten family birth and death dates. The last was a large family dimensional bible with the front cover off and several photo pages loose. This also had handwritten births, deaths and marriages of my great grandparents' families.
Jim did a fantastic job with all of them. He repaired the original covers, using as much original material as possible. I chose to have him use a heavy cloth material in a suitable color, although he could also have used leather. The loose pages were repaired and reattached. I actually don't know how he does it, but I am very pleased with the results. He quickly responded to my emails, gave me a quote after I sent him photos of the damaged books, and he completed the work in a reasonable amount of time. Also, the final cost was less than he had quoted! I couldn't be happier and plan to send more books to him for restoration.

Requested a quote after submitting photo shipped book-was told it would be about a month based on work ahead of me. The estimate was accurate.

I contacted, Jim, The Book Man and told him what I needed. He asked me to send pictures and then was able to give me an estimate of the cost. I received the Bible back today and am very pleased with the repair. A great job and promptly done!

Bible looks and performs like new. The Book Man kept us informed of his progress via email. Because he use to work with me, the price was whatever I wanted to send him. Highly recommend him!

Mr. Andrews and I communicated by email. He was polite and genuinely pleased to be able to provide his service. He did an expert job.

Jim completely replaced the outer back or spine and cleaned up the outer corner that was slightly damaged. He was able to save the pictures that were on the interior of the front & back covers. An excellent job.

Sent them a bible that was coming apart & they sent me back the bible totally restored.

The Bible looks very good!  It was in terrible shape when I sent it to him, and now it looks great.  He was very professional, and was nice through the entire transaction.  I would recommend him to anyone else looking for book repair or rebinding.
