Storm Guardian Generators

SSGE acted like a teenager wrt aftersale service. The first time I called SSGE was when then was an alarm on the system, ( a year after install) and they refused service!!! The reason per SSGE was that there was dispute during install. During the sales process, SSGE had told me that HOA approval was NOT needed. Right after installation, the HOA wanted to remove the generator, and it took me 2 weeks to sort out the issue. I paid SSGE the second half of the payment in full only after the dispute with HOA was settled in about 2 weeks.Is that a good enogh reason to not provide service?? I had to call Generac's head-quarters and they helped me trouble shoot the alarm on my system.

Everything went quite well except for waiting for the gas company to change the gasmeter.

Ronnie, Pam, Cindy and crew were wonderful to work with.  There are several steps to the process, given potential permits needed and coordination of service dates with Center Point Energy.  They kept me informed and walked me through the process at each step. 
I got bids from three companies.  Storm Guardian's bid was the lowest and included the most features.  It included Mobile Link, which the other two did not even mention.  Being able to remotely monitor the generator and receive alerts on my IPhone and on-line when the generator turns on/off is great.  Almost as important to me, they came through on their promise of near turn key.  The other bids had me doing a lot of the leg work with Center Point.  With Storm Guardian, I only had to make two phone calls and be home half a day to authorize Center Point's replacement of the gas meter. 
I am very pleased with Storm Guardian and can recommend them without reservation.  Great work, great people.

Storm Guardian is a small family owned company. Of the three companies from which we obtained estimates I was most impressed with this company. The initial brochure with which I was presented when I  received the estimate was the most complete and informative about the company and the product.
Everyone was helpful. Myra and Cindy in the office were always very cordial and helpful in scheduling and giving me information. Example:Theywere very helpful in getting through the complexities of arranging meter pulls with the electric companies.The men that came for the installation were always on time and easy to work with (we had "mixed up" wiring in an old house). I was very satisfied with the whole process. It was a job well done.

Full turnkey installation of a Generac 17KW standby generator to wire my whole house for back up power was performed and the whole process was excellent. 

Very easy process once decision to purchase was made, I initially received an estimate one year prior to performing the work.  I had many questions and they gladly answered and provided me with as much information as possible.  When I contacted for new proposal the following summer in 2010 they rebid the job for a whole house install and a limited install, and due to upgrade from manufacturer using an improved transfer switch, my cost for whole house install was only marginally more than the estimate in 2009 for a limited installation so I chose the whole house option.

The entire process was very easy once I signed the bid.  Took about 2 weeks for the generator to come in, during that time they came to my home without me there and set the pad for the generator.  Once the generator arrived they set an install date and the process took about 1 week.  Generator was delivered, gas lines wire installed, electrical transfer switch and all other wiring and install necessary.  The work was done as scheduled and completed on time. 

I met the technician at the agreed upon time when installation was complete and they reviewed the operations of the generator with me.  He explained and demonstrated how it operates and showed me how it would work in event power was lost.  It is automatic and there is nothing for me to do in the event of a power outage or to run a maintenance check.  The generator is set to run a test cycle for about 5 minutes once a week and has warning lights that will notify me of any problems or let me know know if battery is dead or needs charging.

Overall we are very pleased with the installation, cost, and service from Storm Guardian Generators.  We have had one 5 hour power outage since the installation, I was at the store when power went out and the generator started automatically and restored power before my wife could find a flash light and go check on the generator.  Power surged and went on and off a few times as it was brought back online by electric company and my generator restarted without fail within a minute of losing power each time.wiring
