In March 2020, the COVID pandemic started and we did not complain about the issue, which was ongoing despite the repair, as we were in a lockdown. Even if there was no lockdown, we were not comfortable with their technicians (who were likely going to different houses), entering our house. Once it was evident that the pandemic would not end prior to the one year warranty lapsing, we decided to put in a request for them to come out to the house to re-evaluate in Dec 2020. They were scheduled to come out to the house in 01/12/2021, which we had to cancel due to family emergency. They re-scheduled for 02/04/2021. A new technician came out and told us that ‘There is no way that the previous work done would be able to solve this problem and the only solution was to add a zone. If we buy the thermostat they would come install free of cost’. This was a concerning statement in that he was completely negating the ability of the previous work done in solving the issue. As such, he did not tweak with the previous ducts and dampers (which we were previously led to believe would be needed if they came out again). Interestingly, he had not seen a Nest remote sensor and was not aware of how a Nest Thermostat worked. I requested to speak to his manager at the manager’s convenience but never received a call from him. Instead was told to buy a new thermostat so they could add a zone. I bought a new thermostat (another $150) and informed them. They scheduled a visit 02/12/2021 but they were unable to keep that commitment due to getting delayed at another house. They rescheduled for the week after but called that day saying they needed two technicians for the job and could not make it that day. They finally came on 02/26/2021. The same technician who came last time returned. He installed the thermostat I had bought and ran a wire to it. After a few hours, he said that my HVAC zone board was faulty (which if true, I agree is not their fault) and needed replacement for this fix to work. The zone board costs $750.00 + labor. Since that was too expensive and never the original plan from last year, I asked him if he could pls work on adjusting the dampers etc to make the original plan work for which I paid and was told would work. He claimed again that it would never work. At this point, I requested that he pls have his manager talk to me. He said he would. I then called their office the same day (02/26/2021) and requested to speak to the manager. No one called back. I called back to their office on Monday (03/01/2021) and again on Friday (03/05/2021) but was not able to speak to anyone other than the receptionist who told me that the owner had placed me on a ‘Do Not Service’ list and it was likely I would not be getting any callbacks. In short, I still have my original issue from last year, have paid them $1,001.54, bought equipment worth $150, have a hole in my wall where the new thermostat was supposed to be installed and have not been able to talk to anyone other than the technician that came to the house over the course of the year despite multiple attempts. I don’t know if the initial repair which costs me $1000 was done without cause (as per their own second technician it would never fix the problem) to bill me more since the second fix was cheaper OR their second technician does not know what he is talking about and put me on a wild goose chase. Regardless, this is what I wanted to discuss with the manager had he once talked to me during this whole process. I did write a negative review on google to this effect to which their owner answered with some claims which I will answer below to prevent having them repeat these statements: Owner’s statement in Google Review: “I don't understand if you were not happy from the original repair that it would take a year to call and say it was never fixed.” My response: Have addressed this already. COVID was the reason. Owner’s statement in Google Review: “We then came out this past week at no charge to diagnose a separate issue on your zone control board (not installed by us) that was not working on the zone #3 damper. We went above and beyond and ran a new control wire and hooked up your thermostat at no charge. I am sorry that we can't fix every issue for free, but the control board needs to be replaced. It is a separate issue from the one we fixed a year ago.” My Response: “I have never claimed the non-functional zone board was their fault. I just want the issue of disproportionate temperatures between the guest room and kid’s room fixed, as was promised a year ago. Pictures from December 2020 and Jan 2021 are attaching proving the >10 degree difference between the rooms. The fix done a year ago had nothing to do with adding another zone. If it was not going to solve the issue then why do this expensive repair a year ago? If it was going to solve the issue, then it did not and needs to be tweaked. That was the promise made to me a year ago, right?” Owner’s statement in Google Review: “I was hopeful we could solve this second issue, but you refused to talk to the technician or the service manager. We are here to help. Please call us at 281-992-7866”. My Response: “This is a false statement. I have attempted to get in touch with your office on 02/04, 02/26, 03/01 and 03/05 and not once have I received any call backs only to learn that I am on a Do Not Service list and will likely not hear from you again. That’s poor service.”

Great work with great team Trey and his team were polite an hard working. We had to replace both AC and all of the duct work in 30+year old house. They did a 5 day job in 4 and never left us without cooling overnight. Price was reasonable and in line with others in the area. Great job!

The monthly service plan gives you nothing. They come out twice a year and it provides no benefit if something is wrong with the system. It basically just guarantees you will pay for two service calls a year that are not even discounted. Additionally a year ago I paid for a blower motor that was covered under warranty because the tech told me it was not covered. When my AC broke again last moth and I checked the warranty myself, I realized it was covered. I brought it to their attention and now they tell me that the $400 I paid was for labor. Stay as far away from this company as possible. They will take your money

Clear the Air called last week and reminded me it was time for a furnace check. I scheduled an appointment at a mutually convenient time. They called ~30 minutes prior to arrival and came on time as scheduled. Pete was prompt, courteous and efficient.

I woke up to my upstairs A/C unit not working in my new house. I called Clear the Air at about 7:00 am this morning, and they had a technician out before 9:00 am. It's now 11:30, and my A/C is working and has been serviced. The tech, Andrew, was nice, friendly and polite, he showed us how to change the filters on our unit. What a great experience after a rough start to the morning. I highly recommend them!

Jason was the technician who made the repairs and he was very professional and upfront about what needed to be done and what it would cost. I did feel that for the work that was being done, the amount charged was excessive, but I have had previous good experiences with this company and wanted to go with someone that I trust. Everything seems good right now...time will tell.

New tech returned next day and installed new board. I got paperwork to look up new board cost because no estimated was given for parts and labor (just a flate fee for fix it now) The tech took 30 minutes to repace board. I looked new board up on internet and I could buy for $125 ( you know they got it cheaper) So, they charged me $604.00 for $125 part and labor. They hide their true cost by charging a flat fee for repair work and never let you know a breakdown. This is a very deceptive practice. I called to complain and the lady was very nice but, basically said this is how we do it. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. THERE ARE PLENY OF PEOPLE WHO WILL SUPPLY YOU WITH AN ESTIMATE THAT INCLUDES PARTS AND LABOR.

"HI [member name removed] & [member name removed], We are very sorry to hear about this. We called you and spoke to you about this on Thursday 10/2/2014. When we talked we asked you if you wanted your money back and you said you didn't feel right asking for your money back because we provided a service. We have a policy that states if you're not 100% satisfied we would refund your money. We can come out and remove the part and give you your money back. Not much risk there. You also mentioned you are retired and had nothing better to do than to write poor reviews online. We also gave you the price upfront before we did any work. You approved to move forward with the repair. We were very upfront with you on the cost to fix. We don't separate our parts and material. You get a flat rate price upfront that way there is no surprises and you don't have to watch the clock. Dentist, doctors and car mechanics also have similar pricing methods. I don't think it would be fair to walk into a steak restaurant and eat the steak and then find out you can buy it for a lot less at a grocery store just to go complain about the price. We provided you with a service, drove out to your house and provided you with a diagnosis and professional service repair. Clear the Air has never claimed to be the cheapest company as we have found it is impossible to offer the best product, the best people and the best service at the cheapest price. We have been doing this for over twenty five years and over 80% of our business comes from past customers and their referrals. Read less"

I received quotes from 7 different companies and Clear the Air gave us the best up front quote for 2 new Trane a/c and heating units and the replacement of some ductwork. Two other companies came close in price, but I felt most comfortable with Clear the Air. From the beginning I felt comfortable with the person they sent to give us a quote. The contract outlined exactly what work would be done and the equipment that would be installed. The crew that did the installation was very professional and cleaned up after themselves. The day after installation they sent out a technician for a and quot;quality controland quot; check. It was not a rushed look at the system. The technician did a thorough job going over both systems and took the time to make sure I knew how to use the thermostats. I highly recommend Clear the Air.

The service tech (Matt) set up the air quality testing equipment in our home then serviced our outdoor condenser unit and then the main HVAC unit in our attic. I have no qualms with what the tech did - he was 100% professional, being courteous, quick and informative. I DO have issues with the quality of our and quot;Air Qualityand quot; test results though. For what I paid for the testing I feel I should have received a considerably more detailed report, actually any details would have been appreciated, rather than just an OK - OK - OK - Stale air. I work in the petrochemical industry and have seen air quality test reports. There was nothing in this report that was useful to us in addressing the medical issues we were having. In my opinion, this was not a good nor informative report and overall not worth the expense.

We are on a plan and we did not pay for that. They are awesome and we have recommended them to family. On price, they are on the higher side but we do not mind it because they have been by our side. Sometimes they are behind schedule.

It went exactly as promised. Andrew came out to do routine maintenance. He was friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable. He came on time and performed all work as requested. He put on shoe covers to keep from tracking dirt in. Much appreciated. I originally used them to install the AC ~4 years ago and have used them for service since. They are not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for.
