Service team arrived within 1 hour after I called. Very pleased with how quickly they arrived. They cleared the obstruction in the drain and told us what the problem was. They were in and out in about 30 minutes. Price seemed pretty reasonable.

Fine. We been using them for years.

They are the best plumbers in the area and are our go to people; hands down. You just can’t beat them. I will recommend and use them, again.

I thought the cost was $75 to come out and do it, but they charged me a $150. So, well I thought I just would not use them anymore. I have been meaning to call them back because I do not know what it does, but every once in a while, it is like a mini flush right there in the middle of the night and it does that for three hours. I am not real pleased with it. They would probably charge me again to come out. They came out. They were prompt. They were courteous and all of that, but I was not pleased with the price that they charged and it was like a mini flush or something like that now. It started about a week after they came here. I have had some health issues and other problems, and I just could not get around to it. It is also hard to leave them here during work and all. I just could not fit with it. The cost includes the materials for $20 and the labor was $109.50. The total is $150 with taxes.

The installation seemed to go well.  However, two months later the water heater failed.  I called their number (24 hour service) and the gentleman who answered knew nothing about hybrid water heaters, and said he didn't have the tools in his truck to repair them.  I called another 24 service company (this was on a Friday night).  They showed up, diagnosed the heater, and found remnants of plumbers tape blocking the heater internals.  After a quick cleanout, the heater started to work.  The other company also pointed out that James plumbing should have installed a tank to eliminate the knocking pipes that I hear every time the heater is generating.  The other company suggested that this is standard procedure.  I complained to James Plumbing, but have received no reponse.

It took 2 trips to know the story. The problem was some kind of a suction thing where the water was too high or too low to drain and the 2nd time (8-15-2014) he went to a vent on the roof and fixed it in a few minutes.  That charge was $149.50 after my $20 coupon.  Angie's List didn't have any offers with them when I needed work done.  So the 2nd one said what I really need is to replace the metal pipe going the kitchen to the outside drain for an estimate of $375.00.  If that had been done in the first place, the $169.50 and $149.50 would have covered most of the cost.  I can't think they didn't know that from the first trip.

When I called James plumbing company I was getting a second estimate. Another company had given me an estimate for $1000 to fix the problem. James plumbing's estimate was half as much. John came out and was right on time. He did a wonderful job and charged me even less than I expected. I would recommend James plumbing for any other plumbing needs I have. They're great!

Let me first say that this was only the third time that I've ever had to hire a plumber. So, I don't have a lot of experience with their way of doing business. I chose Jame's specifically because they were local and had a good reputation on Angies List. They may in fact deserve better than the B grade I've given. I was just surprised by the outcome. Even though the technician spent a long time working on the problem. The value of the ultimate fix was considerably less in as much as the technician acknowledged such.
I reported the problem as slow stream from the hot water side, and the spout was not seated firmly against the garden tub deck.
The technician that showed up announced that he would be late because he had to finish an emergency job in the area.
He arrived and I asked him to estimate how much it would cost to fix the problem. He explained that it could be any number of reasons why the water was coming out slow. But, initially thought it would take about half an hour to figure out what was going on. So far, that's all I think I've signed on for is 30 minutes labor. He started with the valve under the tub and realized that pressure was good. He then moved to the pipe feeding the valve under the deck. This began to take long so I inquired again about how long before he knows how long this is going to take. He said another 30 minutes. So far, I think I've signed on for one hour of analysis. That proved not to be the problem either. So, he now wanted to remove the faucet and check it out. The technician struggled to find the tool to remove the stem from our Moen faucet. I eventually provided the tool. After removing the stem he reported that he could be done withing 30 minutes. He discovered that the stem was installed incorrectly. He re-inserted it correctly and demonstrated the water flow was improved. He then shimmed underneath the spout to remove the gap between the deck and the base of the spout.
He ultimately took over two hours to finish the job at a labor cost of $250 + a trip charge of $20 bringing the total to $273 dollars. He commented that next time it will only take fifteen minutes as he had never seen a new faucet with the stem installed from the manufacturer incorrectly before.
My issue is that I believe a skilled plumber could have troubleshooted and arrived at the solution much quicker. In other terms, I was paying for in-efficiencies in the the technician. Now, I can't be completely sure that this isn't fair. But, it doesn't feel fair even though the technician worked a long time. A more customer focus would have been for the tech to either admit his deficiency, and walk away from the job. Or, tell his boss what the situation was and advocate for a lower price even though he worked a long time.
I can't say that I wont use Jame's Plumbing again. I will just be more careful about the skill level of the tech that any plumbing company sends out. I also did not call Jame's Plumbing to complain about it.

Within the past two years we have had limited success in cleaning out this drain. Since my father passed away, we decided to refrain from making this another DIY project and call a professional. My brother-in-law tells me that the drain was unplugged and line flushed within 30 minutes. This drain was so plugged up, we had the washing machine dumping into a utility sink and was then throttling the sink contents to the drain pipe as a temporary solution. Best money spent on this household in two years!

He's an excellent plumber.  I want that particular man to come.

Randy came out within 30 min of calling. reworked the mess the plumber caused earlier this morning and finished the job in less time it it the other guy to argue about.
