I hired and paid Home Depot to measure my floors and give me a quote for a porcelain tile job.  The person who measured my floors was punctual and friendly.  The problem came when I received my quote.  Several people from HD assured me that I would get "all the measurements."  However, the quote only contained a total square footage measurement.  I had several other companies measure my house for bids and I also measured the house; I found that HD's sq ft number didn't add up (it was conspicuously larger than the other quotes and my measurements).  I contacted HD to ask for the individual room measurements to try to find why their sq ft number was different (maybe I had made a mistake?) and for several days I was shuttled around:  told to call another number, then come into the store, then (when I went to the store) to come in at another time.
When I finally got in touch with someone who could help, I was informed (NOT nicely) that HD would not give me ANY individual measurements unless I first agreed to get my floors with them.  When I explained that multiple HD employees had promised this info, the person I spoke to seemed completely incredulous, as if I was lying.  She demanded to know who told me this, and when I told her, she quickly dismissed it as "they were wrong" and offered no other help.
As a last ditch effort, I asked if I could get a bid for a slightly smaller part of my home (after deciding to leave the old flooring in a couple of rooms).  This would have required no new measuring, just some number crunching on HD's end.  The person I spoke to (who previously declined to help with the other measurements) would not say yes/no to this question but instead repeated things like "Flooring is expensive, but we have financing."  SIGH.  Ultimately, she very reluctantly told me I could get another bid but doing a smaller space "wouldn't work for my house."  At that point, I declined to get the second bid because of the customer service and lack of transparency with the measurements.
SUMMARY:  I would *not* recommend HD because they provide no backup for their numbers.  I would not have paid HD for the measurements if I knew I wouldn't get this information,  Considering the multiple promises I received from various employees, I felt cheated.  I also didn't appreciate attitude of the employee who refused to help me whatsoever.

It went fine. They did a good job putting in the carpet.

I don’t remember having to pay so much for scraps that were not used – they charged for an entire square rather than the carpet that was actually needed.

They were very professional. They made me go through each and every different brand of garage door openers and which would be suitable for my garage door. At the same time, they gave me an approximate time when the door opener specialist would come and replace the opener. It was a pretty quick process. I was very satisfied with their service. The price was excellent.

They came and drained the old water heater (10 yrs old original to the house) and hauled it out of the attic.  They then installed the new one.  They informed me that the vent duct work was not done correctly and wondered how it ever passed inspection before.  They also charged me $150 extra for it.  I understand that these people are contractors with Home Depot so the only reason I went with them is because they have a no-interest payment plan.  They did not clean up well afterwords and left a smudge on my wall in the washer room.  Hopefully my water heater will last just as long or longer so we don't have to go through this again.

It went awful! I had Home Depot come measure for my door and a storm door. I bought a front and storm door from Home Depot on January 25,2009. The front door was a special order door. The man came and put the door in on March 9.2009. He did a good job on the front door. When he got to the storm door I heard an opps. I asked what was wrong he said nothing he could not fix! He installed the storm door on the outside door trim or facing. He put no brick molding like I later found out he should have done. I had to leave for work. He left a gap between the brick and the molding of about a quarter to a half an inch. I kept calling the store and they did nothing to help.  I finally called home office about the gap around my outside molding and a crooked strike plate. They sent a man to our house and he fixed the strike plate. He said he could do nothing about the gap between the brick and the 1 x 4 board they used for brick molding because the storm door was mounted to the board. there was also no room between the side of the house and the door to put caulking in the gap. I think they did and awful job.

We shopped at a couple of places and we finally chose this company. They had a really good price for the style of shed we wanted. They treated us very well. We were happy to see how fast they had the shed completed. They wasted no time. Everyone we dealt with for this project was very kind. We are very happy with the final product.

I thought that Home Depot did a very fine job. I am not disappointed at all. They were very respectful when they were here and they did a wonderful job cleaning up after themselves. I was very impressed at the time it took to finish the roof. They were only here about a day. They had everything together in no time at all and it was all done correctly. Like I said, I was very impressed by them and I would gladly hire them again.

Home Depot came out to install an oak front door on my house and did a good job. The door fits well, opens and shuts properly, which isn't much, but the little stuff makes the whole thing perfect. They hired someone else to come out to do the job, but they were polite, courteous, and professional.

Home Depot was really professional and cleaned up everything when they were done putting in the new front door on my house. I think the door looks nice and it was nice to see that the workers that installed it didn't scratch the door or the trim work. They completed the work in a timely manner and were respectful all the time.

Home Deport did a real good job of installing carpet in all the bedrooms in my house. I can't see any seams at all, which is unusual, but I was pleasantly surprised. They followed every other instruction I gave them to a tee. They also cleaned up real well after themselves. The price was reasonable, as I can remember that.

THE CREW THAT INSTALLED THE WINDOWS WERE VERY POLITE. THE PRICE PAID IS WELL WORTH IT.

MARK WAS GREAT. HE SHOWED ME A NEW DECK PAINT THAT WAS WATERPROOF.

RE-KEYED ALL MY OUTER DOOR LOCKS TO USE ONE KEY, INCLUDING THE DEAD BOLTS. ALL WORK PERFECTLY. WORK WAS DONE WHILE I WAITED.

THEY KNEW THEIR STUFF AND DID THE JOB QUICKLY. ALL THE LOCKS WERE ABLE TO BE OPENED.

THEY DID GOOD WORK WHILE WE WAITED. ALL THE LOCKS OPEN SIMPLY WITH JUST ONE KEY NOW THANKS TO THEM.
