Brown AC & Heating was sent out through my American Home Shield warranty for AC that was not keeping up with warmer spring weather. I was contacted by Brown the first business day of my warranty claim, and they sent out technicians that afternoon. Charles was friendly and explained things well. They found the problem (clogged evaporator drain pipe) and fixed it quickly. It was all very straightforward.

The price could have been lower. The timeliness could have been better. Once they did get here, it didn't take then long to get it done. Ordering the part seemed to take a long time. The quality was fine. When they did decide they were coming, they were on time.

"Thank you for taking time to give us comments on your experience with our service. We take reviews very seriously! We would like to address all of your concerns.Your review was posted 2 weeks ago and we do not show that we have serviced your home recently, the last service was almost six months ago. The service was through your home warranty at that time which you are required to pay a $75.00 service fee. In our notes it says that you requested an after normal business hours appointment. Your home warranty does not cover after hour appointments so that is what the additional $75.00 is for. Our notes at the time we made the appointment you approved the $75.00 overtime charge. Since you requested a late appointment it would make sense the technician would make your call at the end of his day. Our technicians do make suggestion on upgrading to the new refrigerant air conditioning systems. The older refrigerant systems are going to be phased out soon and the refrigerant is getting very expensive.Our company will always do repairs needed through your home warranty if we didn't they would not let us work for them for as many years as we have. The only reason we would not do repairs would be they were not covered under the customers warranty plan and the customer did not want to pay for the non-covered repairs. An example is some warranty companies only pay a certain amount toward refrigerant.. This leaves the home owner with paying out of pocket. I hope that this explanation of your concerns with your service call helps. If not give us a call we would be happy answer any questions. On the first visit they removed my evaporator coil in order to see if it was repairable (per home warranty companies instructions), upon inspection at their office they found that it was not repairable, and that is when we negotiated the cash out/ other option to get a better fit coil. Now I have the Trane brand coil, which exactly fits the specs of my system so that the system itself didn't need to be modified to fit the coil the warranty was going to provide me.

There was a problem with the install which they stepped up to the plate very well, they took full responsibility for it. They had caused a leak from the condensation pan and they immediately brought in a water remediation company at their expense because the home was up for rental at the beach house so it was very time sensitive. They stepped up to the plate big time and solved the problem very well. They are a straight up responsible company.

The gentlemen that came out to perform both jobs mentions above worked tirelessly and efficiently to complete the jobs in a timely manner. The young men were professional, friendly and very competent!!! We've used them before and will use them again.

It was the worst experience for customer service, punctuality, and services rendered I have recieved from any business. So much so I went to the added expense of hiring another HVAC company to fix the problem rather than deal with them ever again.

Zack is the best. He quickly located the leak and was more than supportive of me redoing the pvc run myself. I had already cleared the primary - he doulechecked my work - but I had not located the problem in the secondary, hidden under some insulation. He did not try to upsell me and quickly moved on to folks that were without any working a/c.

Very timely install. Minor install issue with blocked condensate drain, which was being reused, turned into a big deal. To their credit Brown's (owner Tim Brown) took absolute responsibility. They IMMEDIATELY dispatched a water damage restoration crew from QuikDry and worked to make sure the water in the walls was completely gone and no sign of the work was evident one week later when the house became available for summer rentals. Tim Brown spent several hours himself diagnosing and correcting the cause of the problem. As an apology for the trouble he performed some additional work we had discussed for free. Complete stand-up guy. There was never any hesitation on his part to take responsibility (about $4,000 clean-up) and get it done. I will absolutely call him for any additional work in my homes.

The service person, Zach, was very professional and quick. After calling around to various places he was able to track down a circuit board for my A/C which happen to be last one available in Houston!
Placed a call in the morning and they came out that same day...

I have an American Home Shield who they work with. They have done my heating and air conditioning checkups during the last couple of years. They come out a couple of times a year, once for my heating and the other time for my air conditioner. I had them come out early this year to do my air conditioner as I started using it from the beginning of February. American Home Shield bills me $60 as I have an insurance plan. I usually go with their service plan that they have for an entire year as it works out much cheaper but I did not do that this year. It was $150 last year for the annual plan for my heating and air conditioning which was very reasonable. I like the service technicians that they send out. The ones that I have had are very knowledgeable. They tend to explain things to me and they have not tried to mess around with me by giving the wrong information. I had that problem with some similar companies in the past but I have not had such a problem with them. I have an older unit and so, it was not easy for them to do that and they have not done that before. Their price is pretty close to what the other companies charge. I am not unhappy about their responsiveness. They come out within the window that they give me.

Brown Air Conditioning & Heating Company is excellent. They come out whenever we call them. The person who comes always carries a vacuum cleaner with him. He vacuums and cleans up the mess after he is done. He tells us exactly what he is doing. Our personal house has five air conditioners and he took care of every one of them. So, he was here all day working but charged us only $245. It was very, very reasonable. I would definitely continue to use them in the future.

I thought that they were fine. They came on time and did the furnace checkup. They told me about some possible wiring issues. They found some wires connected with some mice up there. They had chewed some things. They tracked the bunch of stuff for us. The guy was trying to see what he could possibly track and then fix. I liked that he took me up there and showed me some other damage that he found in the attic. They were good with everything that they did.

We were very pleased with the repairs and the communication between us and the company. They went to bat for us with AHS on some items that were borderline and fully explained the repairs and charges to my satisfaction. I would use them for other air and heating work.

They did a wonderful job and were very thorough. They did carbon monoxide testing and we were very happy with them. We would definitely use them again. We asked them to bill us separately because one would be business and the other personal. They charged $45 a unit and there was no service charge. It took quite a bit of one day for the work. They were very friendly and nice. They were just wonderful. They gave us refrigerator magnets and we will use them again.
