Best Bid Construction

The project went very well. Best Bid provided a written quote and then obtained the necessary work permit. The communication was excellent and the schedule was agreed to by both parties. The driveway looks great and other neighbors are considering doing the same thing.

Best Bid Construction was significantly less expensive than the other 5 bids I received. They were fast and did a beautiful job on my driveway. I only have positive things to say about the entire experience.

We had a small area off of our pool deck that we wanted to put stamped concrete (previously a wood deck). Uriel did an amazing job. He stamped the concrete to resemble flag stone that matched our expansion joints and coping. The process was quick. He showed up on time and kept me posted on the progress. I would highly recommend Best Bid and would use them again.

This job couldn’t have gone any better. The crew was so skilled and so fast, it was a treat to watch them. Everything had to be perfect. Uriel (the contractor) and Rebecca communicated well with us. They took very good care of our property - tear-out was done with a minimum of damage to the surrounding lawn and they repaired that very nicely with dirt. There were some delays on the project, but those were caused by the city permitting process, not by the contractor. Work was done on the schedule that we had agreed on, and the cleanup was excellent. I would definitely hire Best Bid again!

Everything went very smoothly with Best Bid. They were quick and responsive in given us a bid, worked with us on the timing of the job according to our needs (we had to wait for a contractor to finish up other work in our back yard first, which required us to ask Best Bid to delay the start), showed up within a couple of days of the agreed to schedule (they were delayed with finishing other jobs due to rain the week before). The work itself appears very good quality, tear out went well with them not damaging adjacent (and new) metal fence, rebar laid in as expected, concrete looks great so far (only 1 week old), all appears level and hopefully will drain away to the street as they assured us (no rain so far, so hard to know), and all low areas between new concrete and yard were filled in with sand and the area cleaned up nicely. The job did take a little longer than we expected (10 days start to finish, no rain delays, weekends off) but that may be standard for our long driveway and sidewalks (we expected more like 5-7 days). Out of the 3 bids we received, Best Bid was the lowest by about 20%, but others have not had that same experience so it may be our 2 other bidders were just very high. Though this large of a job is disruptive and we're glad it's over with, there's nothing Best Bid could have done to make it easier other than the time it required (which really wasn't all that big of a deal now that's it all over with). We were very satisfied with Best Bid, and would certainly hire them again ourselves.

Excellent! I cant recommend Uriel and Best Bid highly enough. Working with his wife Rebecca during all the planning was also made very simple. Uriel also worked closely with Texas Wind engineer to ensure project built to code. Will absolutely use them again for other projects. Am happy to provide any referrals and share my experience.

Uriel came to the house and provided an estimate, as we have used him before for other projects and were happy with his work and the fair price he gave us. The estimate for the concrete work was almost double what was quoted a year ago and WAY too high. The price was not fair at all. We will not be requesting or procuring Best Bid's Services again.

Uriel quoted us a fair price and did a good job. The stoop was not think enough and not slanted enough, plus there were some areas that were damaged bc it had not dried and it rained. Uriel came back to the house, repoured concrete and fixed it at no additional charge. He guarantees his work. On another job, he painted the exterior of our house and also installed rain gutters. His quote was fair and he did a good job. One of the gutters at the back of the house leaked and he came back and fixed it.

Mr Uriel Banuelos came out and looked over our back yard, spent some time specifying various things we might do, left us some literature and pictures, and generally gave us some direction concerning what to undertake, and what his firm could do. He gave us a general estimate, and added some parameters according to various choices of surface we might choose. After a couple of weeks, during which we interviewed other contractors, we were able to produce a plan with specific things to do, and emailed it to Mr Banuelos, asking for his bid to do the work. He visited with us again, leaving a contract for us to consider. We thought his price was fair, and we were impressed that he seemed to know his business. I wasn't able to gather much information, but such as I had seemed favorable. We chose another contractor for the job who also impressed us with his expertise, and who was about 8% less expensive, and more local to us.

They arrived in the morning exactly when they said they would. The first job was to remove flagstone from an existing patio. They removed the top layer with a jack hammer, then finished the rough spots with an air chisel. The results far exceeded my expectations. Next they completely demolished a 12x16 patio, leaving no trace of it except for bare dirt. They even swept up before leaving. I highly recommend this company.

Amazing work and responsiveness at competitive pricing. The level of craftsmanship is first class and was completed ahead of schedule. Contractor was very willing to make changes and cleans up after completion. I highly recommend this company.

I called this company on two separate occasions. I asked to speak with someone that could answer a specific questions I had about how they would stain a concrete patio. I was told both times that a representative would call me back. Never got a call back so we are doing business with another company that needs customers. No work was performed by Best Bid Construction.

The owner Uriel was polite and did a perfect job. When the job was completed I could find "nothing" wrong with the job. I am a repeat customer and will be using him again in the near future.

The patio is stunning. I have a mobility problem and I need a very flat surface (no steps) that is not slippery. Best Bid delivered on everything. I made changes/improvements as the work progressed and I am a harsh critic. But the owner is a great guy--very accommodating and easy to work with. I would work with them again in a heartbeat.

They gave ne the best bid for the work. They did the job inle a timely matter and I have received compliments on the work performed. Only problem was that after the job was completed they were going to come back an do a small repair to a larger than acceptable gap between the new and old sections of concrete, so far they have not been back. I have contacted them once and was told they were on vacation. So far have not heard back or seen any results.

Very pleased with the professionalism and attention to quality in workmanship and materials. Uriel and his crew delivered as scheduled and promised in all aspects of the job. This was our first job with Best Bid. I was a little cautious in handing over a sizeable sum of money to someone I had just met, not knowing if I would see the person again. Uriel proved to be a very trustworthy and honorable man. I obtained bids before selecting a contractor. He was competitively priced and his specs call for better reinforcement, ie 12" vs 18" center rebar. I do plan to include Best Bid on my bid list for future projects, and will not hesititate to use them in the future.

Did a good job on the sidewalk ultimately, but the estimate was supposedly calculated incorrectly, so they ended up doing a smaller portion of the sidewalk (68 instead of 96 sq feet) for the same quoted price. After receiving the quote, had great difficulty scheduling him to come out and actually perform the service, because it was such a 'small job' and apparently hardly worth his time. After all that, asked him for a quote to imprint our driveway and walkway to front door, but he failed to provide a quote even after I requested it several times. Got the impression he was not interested in doing business with us.

I called Best Bid Construction for a quote on a new stamped concrete driveway, and also a new concrete border around my guest house to prevent pooling of dirty water and mud. They were very responsive and provided a very reasonable quote. Along with all the good Angieslist reviews they already had, I felt confident in selecting them. Communication was excellent throughout the project. Uriel alerted whenever new issues arose, and kept me updated via text on the progress of the work. He was there with a full crew working long hours every day until the project was complete, except for a couple days delay in between due to heavy rain. Uriel is a both a good contractor and human being who cleary takes a lot of pride in doing quality work and doing the right thing. I was thrilled with how good my driveway was upon completion. Uriel seemed even more excited as he showed me all the different details he and his crew had worked on. I have dealt with many, many contractors while working on this house I bought, and this has been one of my best experiences. Would definitely hire Best Bid again without any reservations.

Owner is very responsive. He is extremely talented in concrete construction projects. Would not hesitate to use him again. We believe that he has increased the value of our property. TWO THUMBS UP!

Uriel did a fantastic job! We found him on Angie's list after scheduling with another contractor and having that contractor not show up! My husband called Uriel and he came out right away to give us an estimate. His estimate was the same as everyone else's so we decided to move the project over to Best Bid Construction. We were promptly emailed a typed bid explaining the bid and what exactly we were paying for. Uriel was very professional every step of the way and kept in constant contact letting us know about any schedule changes and really explained to us how the project was going to work. Although it was a small project (just a back patio) my husband and I were nervous to spend money on a back patio like this. It only took him a day to complete and it looks fantastic! He made it match our existing patio so the whole thing will be consistent. My husband and I were very pleased with his work and will definitely use him again for future projects!

Uriel did a great job. He was very punctual and made sure we were happy. We have since gotten other quotes for him to do other work for us.
