ETEX is the only internet and cable provider in this area of East Texas, unless you want to go with a satellite company. We have had their service since 2010 and started having problems with the cable box and remote. I called 2 weeks ago and asked to have it replaced but was told I needed to talk to tech support first. I was on hold for extended times until I was finally able to speak to a tech on Wednesday who confirmed that I needed a new box and wrote a service ticket. The next day a service truck came by my house three times but never stopped (I live on a cul-de-sac in a gated community). I had informed the tech to note that I would be out Monday for a doctor's appointment. The following Wednesday I still had not seen or heard from ETEX and I had NO record of any phone calls from them on my cell or house phone. I called the local office and talked to a very rude woman who said they called but I wasn't home. She gave me the option of discontinuing the service or writing a ticket for another service call. Since they are the only provider they really must enjoy this part. Again I was asked for my contact numbers which they should have had already. Thursday morning without a prior call, a service man showed up, replaced the box while discussing his lunch plans on his cell. He left me with the TV blaring and apparently forgot to program the remote to turn the TV off or adjust the volume, since I had to call tech support to get that done. Tech support and I were able to perform the simple programming despite the noise level. Our advantage was that we didn't have any lunch plans to discuss. Now, Saturday morning, we awoke to a cable box that had turned itself off overnight. When we turned it back on, it had lost all recorded programs and all programmed recordings. Within an hour it shut itself off again and we called tech support. Another service ticket and someone may be out next Monday. Guess I will be sitting at home again waiting for the "service" person. While doing so, I will be callling Mr. Danny Keller, ETEX Gm at 903-797-1109 which is his direct line.

They are the only local phone and computer service available here unless you go satellite. I have done that ana I am not happy with the satellite internet. So far I don't have any complaints with them.
