Did not oversee the project as he should have. We wanted stained concrete floors but he wasn't there to oversee that the finish was the correct finish. So it was not, so now we have to lay tile, which has resulted in thousands of dollars of extra cost. He was not there to see that the A/C drain was not put in the closet, but instead fabricated a story and said we wanted our A/C in the attic. WHICH WAS ABSOLUTELY NOT TRUE!!! He did not tell us that his framers used the wrong siding in the gables and when asked he said "oh, we're not going to have shingles in the gables." When asked why not he admitted his guys made a mistake, but he did nothing to correct it, nor did he communicate to us the mistake on his own. Inferior materials were used in some of the exterior finish work, which will eventually result in us having to tear that work out and have it redone. Nails in the siding were exposed all over the exterior. We asked him to come back and fix it. He said they did, but they did not. This resulted in us having to pay the painters an extra $3,000 to fix the framers' shoddy work. Siding was not hung according to Hardy specifications and ends of planks were not nailed onto studs, so the ends bow out a little. So far we are about $12,000 over budget because of his mistakes and will not be able to have the floor, A/C and shingles in the gables like we wanted. This is just what has been discovered to date and does not include some of the shoddy framing and the crooked column on our front porch. This is the only time we will build a house. He never offered to do walk throughs with us. We had to ask. He requested the final payment before they were actually finished and because we didn't know better, we paid him. Never did a final walk through with us.
