Right Jewelry

I had approached vendor in the Music City Mall (Odessa, TX) on 23 June 2010 on the advice of a Zales Jewelry associate. Wristwatch batteries were approaching two years, and vendor quoted $10 per battery and $15 dollars to adjust wriststrap. After opening the back of wristwatch in a matter of seconds, vendor claimed that the two watch batteries were "still good" and explained that I was to pay $5.00 "for his trouble...I don't do this for free." Equally troubling was the vendor's 5-minute possession of my watch before he returned my property to me. After several days had elapsed, on 2 July 2010 my wristwatch mysteriously stopped working due, presumably, to battery failure. While unable to prove my suspicions, during that 5-minute interval, I suspect that the vendor had swapped my two watch batteries for less reliable ones...and had pocketed, in the meantime, some cash. When I returned to the Zales Jewelry associate to share my less-than-satisfactory experience with Right Jewelry, Zales agreed to remove the links in my wriststrap free of charge. I object to Right's treatment of my property, the unnecessary charge for a phantom 'service' (the sales receipt even reads "NO SALE") and shall urge consumers in the region to avoid said vendor at all costs.
