This provider never called me one time from January 11, 2016 until April 19, 2016. I was told originally it would take approximately 6 weeks to repair. I waited about 7 weeks before calling and no status was given other than he was working on addition to house and hadn't gotten to it. I called two weeks later to find out wrong cables were shipped. I called two weeks later and still no status on repair. Final call was when I called in April to find out clock cannot be repaired. At each interval I could have been kept informed of the issues or progress and never was given the courtesy of a phone call. A one minute call throughout the process was too much to ask I guess. I'm not upset the clock couldn't be fixed but that this company was not considerate enough to pick up the phone and keep the customer updated. 3 + months later and the only calls made were by me.

John called to see if he could come earlier. I was happy to have him over. He was knowledgeable, friendly and showed me how to operate the clock. He answered my questions fully. I was worried that my dogs would bother him but he was friendly to them and they laid down around him while he worked. Very good experience for everyone at this household. Will use him in the future as needed.

John was courteous and professional and explained what would be done in terms I could understand. He was very accessible and did great work, and my clock sounds and runs great! Recommended.

It was nice, even though that the company I had ordered from sent me the wrong part, he had an extra and was able to install it for me. Very informative, very nice, very professional. He even showed me how to operate the grandfather clock and that was very nice as well. I will recommend him for clock repair or grandfather clock repair. He is very good.

I would hire John in a heart beat. Not only is the clock working perfectly, John spent extra time to explain things about our clock we did not know. John is professional, courteous, knowledgeable, and just a nice guy.

Our grandfather clock's moon dial stopped working, and we called to set up an appointment to have it fixed. Since the clock had not been serviced for many years, we scheduled that as well. John came to our house at the appointed time and was very courteous. He carefully took apart the clock and cleaned and oiled all of the components. As he was working, he explained everything he was doing and answered all of our questions. Once everything was completed and reassembled, John told me how the moon dial worked and how to readjust it if necessary. He also told us the dos and don'ts when it comes to maintaining the clock, and that it should be serviced every 5-7 years. He will definitely be getting our business again, even if it's not for another 5-7 years.

He was on time and spent extra time teaching me how to keep it running. It was raining that day but no complaints from him or me. I'd recommend him any time.

I have a Schatz ship's clock that had not been serviced since I bought in in 1968. Very good at what he does, full disclosure and conscientious.

I called on a Sunday and was given an appointment for Tuesday afternoon. He arrived at 230PM and repaired the clock in @ an hour. We are so pleased with the service we received. I recommend Pendulum Clock Shop for repairs to your grandfather clocks.

I bought an old Ethan Allen grandfather clock in a not working status. I had hoped for an easy fix. I got John's number from Angies List and called. John was "Johnny on the spot" and top notch and while I didn't get the good news about our clock I wanted to, he was more than fair with pricing and work required. He told me what to look for inside the clock, what to do, and answered all my questions. Then he offered to answer more if I got into it and wasn't certain, and if that didn't resolve it, he'd be happy to come out. I appreciated his straightforward instructions and his down-to-earth confidence in what his customer could do. It saved me money and taught me something new. He's very generous with his time.

He quoted me a price, told me the work he would do, did the work, called me and I paid and took my working clock back home, where it is running perfectly today. I was most impressed with his knowledge and experience.... and clearly therei are hundreds of other satisfied customers that use him. He is one of a dying breed - craftsmen who know and love their craft... and fix things one at a time... I was ecstatic with his service and the results.

John was great every time I contacted him. My grandfather clock wasn't keep the exact time and he told me how to turn the screw on the pendulum and now it is keeping perfect time. When the pendulum wouldn't keep swinging, he told me how to correct that. He is just great!

When I first spoke to John on the phone, he tried to help me determine the problem with my grandfather clock by phone. I decided to go ahead and have him make a house call and clean both clocks. He was able to come out the next day. He was very professional and friendly. John was able to get both clocks working. He also explained how to care for the clocks on a routine basis.

John Sparks did a great job in reassembling a 1928 Herschede Grandfather clock that I had shipped from my family in PA. The clock had not been working for several years prior to it being shipped to TX. John was very knowledgeable about the clock and how it worked. He oiled the timeworks, checked timeworks components, reassembled the clock in it's cabinet, tested it and made some repairs on location. He balanced the chimes and pendulum so the clock is back up and fully operational. John was pleasant, professional and informative. My son and I watched him throughout most of the reassembly process so we could learn and we was very accomodating. The price for his services was very fair. I will use John again when necessary to keep this family heirloom running and would highly recommend him.

My experience was excellent they are absolutely the best. I have other people here and they have not been able to fix it like they were able to. They were very courteous and had very fair problems. I had a problem 2 days later and he came right back out to fix it without charging me a dime.

I only had a phone conversation with him. He was upfront and super nice. I could not describe the clock and he told me what kind of clock it was. He told me that he would not be able to fix it, but that he could tell me a couple of places that could. I really appreciated that. I would definitely use him again.

This was absolutely the best repair experience I have ever had in my life. I saw the report for Pendulum Clock Shop in Angie's List and thought I would give it a try. I removed the movement from the clock and took it to him at his house where he replaced a gear from my clock with one from a spare movement he had there in his shop. He then oiled and adjusted it. When he was finished, I asked him how much for the repair, and was told $10.00. I know this would have cost many times this much at any other repair shop. John is obviously not doing this to make money, but rather he does it because he enjoys working with pendulum clocks.

Like I said, I took this clock to the shop in early Sept. and still have not gotten it back. I have called him 3 times about it. The first time, towards the end of Sept., I called to ask about the status of the clock. He rudely said that he hadn't worked on it yet. Then I called him on Nov. 30 and left a message on the answering machine to inquire about the progress of the clock. He did not return my call. I called again on Dec. 17. and again got an answering machine. I left another message and he still has not returned my call. I am now concerned that I will not get my clock returned to me.
