"I am very sorry that this has happenned, but honestly we never heard anything from you prior to this review. We inspected, charged, and thoroughly cleaned your outdoor units, and visually inspected your furnaces back in July of last year. All furnaces have some leakage at the doors and with older funaces, the leakage can be more. I had a long talk with your husband about your systems, air leaks and duct losses. We discussed energy saving steps and the age of your AC's. Your doors did not come with a seal and so I am at a loss as to why 9 months later someone says you need seals when those doors don't come from the factory with seals. Be careful who you listen to and thoroughly inspect their claims. We take pride in making sure our customers are 100% satisfied with our work, but in this case you never even gave us a chance. I would also like to respond to your grades. Responsiveness "B"- we scheduled when you were ready and was there right on time. how is that a B Punctuality- "B"- we were there at the time we agreed on without rescheduling. How is that a B Professionalism "B" - I sat with your husband and answered every question he had about Air Conditioners. Gave him tips on how to get better results by lowering the upstairs thermostat, we performed maintenance and changed your filters. We outperformed our Angies List agreement with you. We would love to have had a call prior to this review. This seems unfair."
EXCELLENT!!! I called numerous contractors to get price quotes and equipment recommendations to fix or replace our 20 year old unit. So I decide on Harmony Environmental and chose to replace our system and I'm so happy I did! Jesse (the owner) was fully involved in the entire process from initial phone call through completion. He was on time, couldn't have been nicer, and is an authorized licensed installer for American Standard. Most systems include a product warranty but then labor is extra and half the cost. Jesse feels confident enough in the product and in his installation that he, at no charge, includes a 10 year labor warranty on him. Did I forget to say he also had the best price! During installation he noticed several things involving wiring that were not up to his standard. Even though a previous electrician did the shoddy work, Jesse fixed the incorrect things at no charge to us. Best of all I now don't have to stress about who to call when we have an A/C emergency on our 20 year old second unit. I know I will get an honest assessment and a fair price. Thanks Jesse.
On Monday, he actually showed up a bit earlier than originally planned, but the one guy he brought had no idea what he was doing. Jesse had to leave to do something at another job; meanwhile, the guy he left kept taking breaks because he didn't seem to know what to do next. The installation started at about 2:30pm and finally ended at 9:30pm. I understand that you need to train your employees, but at least stay with them and do it properly. The guy had to remove the door and doorframe to where my unit was located and after he was done he put them back, but very poorly. (He just put the frame back on with the nails in the existing holes and that's all. Plus, he accidentally cut parts of the frame when he cut the caulking in order to remove the frame.) The frame is barely hanging on and I'll have to repair that myself. Also, I had just painted the wall next to this area and they left black fingerprints all over it. I hadn't realized this at the time, having been so grateful to finally have AC in my house again, but I think they should have looked and fixed that prior to their departure. Thankfully, the fingerprints did come off of the paint.
Jesse contacted me the next day to see how the AC unit was working out, which was appreciated. He gave me a ten year parts and labor warranty and sent over a certificate. Overall, I'd use Harmony again, but I would ask beforehand that Jesse actually be present. I think if he'd been here the entire time perhaps total completion time would have been what he originally stated.
While we were waiting for the warranty company to find someone to come look at the unit, Jesse arrived about an hour or so after we called and started checking the unit outside. He said he saw no sign of a repair kit that the previous company had noted. He tried a new capacitor and was going to try installing a "hard start" kit, but he eventually agreed with the other company that the compressor was not going to work again.
Early the next morning, Jesse and Andrew arrived and immediately began working on the evaporator in the attic and on installing the new compressor/condenser unit outside. Jesse and Andrew were both very friendly and professional. Jesse was great about explaining what he was doing and eager to answer my many questions. Instead of going the easy route, he took extra steps to make the installation of the outdoor unit aesthetically pleasing. Jesse and Andrew cleaned up afterward and left everything as clean or cleaner than when they left. They finished the work a bit after noon and we were cool again in no time.
Jesse tried everything to help us avoid buying a new unit, but the old unit appears to have been a used unit that was probably on its last legs when the previous homeowners installed it. I would highly recommend Jesse to anyone who needs A/C work done. He is honest and fair, and if he can save you some money, he will.
