Filter reviews by service
I read on Angie's List that Warren's Furniture had good reviews. I contacted him by phone and dropped a chair off at Mr. Warren's Nolanville shop on October 12, 2013. I took a piece of oak wood to use to cut the missing wood piece. He estimated the job would cost $60. I called him every few months to see how it was going. He'd say, "We haven't forgotten you." Another time he said that he works full time and the furniture work is done when he can get to it. Least encouraging was when he told me that he does furniture jobs first that are lucrative. He said that one like mine hardly pays. Late in 2014 I moved. One of my two phone numbers remained the same, and one was disconnected.
In June, 2015 I got a call from him saying he'd tried to call me and the line he'd called was no longer in service. He wanted to get the chair out and get paid.
So we arranged a time to pick up the chair. When I got to his shop he said the cost would be $80. He said he tried once and the wood didn't work out and he had to get another piece. He didn't use the one I left. He said he didn't like a project to get the better of him. He said he had taken the chair apart and re-glued it, and that he had sanded it, although I had not requested these services.
I noticed that the chair back he'd worked up did not meet the sides of the chair rails when it should have been flush.
