John was quite thorough in the inspection report with what he could see externally. We had a pretty good idea of the big ticket items (roof, HVAC system, electrical panel maybe) ,that needed to be replaced or inspected more thoroughly by a licensed professional, from the report. One big ticket item that I felt could have been emphasized more in his comments was galvanized water pipes. When we looked around for insurance, our insurance company would not insure this house because of the galvanized pipe and the age of the property. They said that most insurance companies would not. We did find someone who did insure it before getting the pipes replaced but it is expensive insurance.
