River Hills Custom Homes

My wife and I entered into contractual agreement with River Hills Custom Homes, Inc. in June of 2017 and our home was completed in May of 2018. From the very beginning, there were incidents during the building process that eroded our trust and confidence which left us wondering whether we selected the right builder. My wife and I have prior experience working with other home builders during the construction of previous homes. We certainly understand that there will always be unforeseen circumstances that will arise during the construction of any home. We do not expect perfection from anyone as we are far from perfect ourselves. Overall, the house looks great and we are happy with the final product. However, it’s our firm belief that the construction of our home lacked sufficient oversight from River Hills during several critical construction phases which resulted in damage, additional work, and needless delays. We believe that customer service could have been much better from a project management standpoint. We also believe that River Hills tried to take advantage of us to save money on several occasions. If we had not stayed on top of them and insisted that they correct over a dozen issues that arose during the construction process, we would not have the home we currently have. Word of advice, do your homework, know what you want well in advance, and thoroughly research your options before signing a contract with any custom home builder!

The work was done within the allotted time frame, below budget, and we currently have no issues with post construction problems. After all factors are considered, we would rate the project with 5 stars. We are happy with the home, and it is appraised at or above construction cost value.
